im recently rebuilding my motor and i put a vs cam with supporting mods in also with headers. should i buy a canned tune until i get a street tune or just wait until i get a street tune?

I'd wait till the street tune. How far out are you before you could get one done?

do you have a wide band yet? what all mods do you have? I deff think a custom tune should be done but agree with you that a 2-3 hour drive untuned could be bad. what type of scanning tools do you have? if you don't have a way to scan kr your basically driving blind. Id say step one make sure you have a scan tool, 2 if there is kr then i would suggest a canned tune that way you can safely make it to get tuned

Dear Lord.....don't beat the piss out of the car, and you could drive it for 200k+ miles on the stock tune.

Use some common sense and just drive it there.

Your car yes. But how do you know this guys car won't knock. We are at sea level down here and have higher boost and knock then most of you all in the mountains. Pretty much we all have to run a pulley size smaller for a given mod set. As will all the modding guides you need to scan your car as all cars react different.

If you never get into boost and just monitor kr ( if you can ) you should never have an issue

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned just pulling the belt off...

pull the belt off and drive it there..no point in spending money on a canned tune if your having Z34 tune it soon after.
