I don't think I understand how the car can run without them.. The PCM can't possibly run if it does not see those narrow o2 sensors can it.?
How does it know how to compute a/f? Or am I shutting off its ability to do that by entering my own data in the hpt tune?
I guess it makes sense

It is running in open loop. The MAF adjusts for incoming air.
So basically the extra bung it comes with is pointless to install because I can just replace one of the narrows... Do I have to turn off any DTC codes?

Yeah I've determined from some reading I'll add the bung.

I've got to install my bung so I can dial in my tune... I've got pacesetters and the O2 bung sits in the collector approximately 14" back from the rear head/exhaust ports. Instructions... Yeah, I read them, lol... Say to install the WB at least 18" away.
So here's my question...
I've had a persistent P1133 code since I installed the headers (pacesetters) and want to try and move the location of the NB O2 to try and eliminate it. Is having the WB 4" closer to the heat/exhaust than recommended detrimental in any way? Is mounting the WB on a slight (10*) angle above horizontal really necessary. I haven't checked to see if it will fit that way yet, but know that space is tight there. So as you might have guessed, I would install the new bung to relocate the NB and use the one in the header collector for the WB but it doesn't meet the install spec.
Or should I just leave the NB bung where it is and install WB bung at 18" as recommended? I can just tune out the O2 code...?
Decisions!!!
Lol, apologies for hijacking thread, but is kinda on topic!
Thanks for your thoughts!
Not sure about the distance I guess whatever the instructions say. I do know they have to Vertical to some degree so moisture doesn't build inside the sensor.

Thought I'd share some pics of mine a d the super easy firewall access if you need to run wires.
My install location
Where my wires run through the gromet pops out by hand and I slit the boot a little to allow room for my wires for my wideband (I'm running mpvi standard and logging through a/c pressure)
And the wires come through nice and easy no fishing cutting carpet etc...
Does anyone know if I'll have issues trying to weld the bung to the set of sd headers I have?

Sweet that is exactly what I wanted to see

Got my wideband in.
Sucker pegs out to 10.1 while moderate acceleration.. Time to start tuning it lol

That was just what I was seeing on the gauge haven't plugged in hpt yet.
I didn't calibrate it either.. Completely forgot about that.

depending on which one you get you may not need to calibrate it.... (AEM)
I have that one
