i want to start using my tuner, but when i plug it in, click read entire, it goes to step #4, which is pcm preparing, and it shows it failed!? has anybody else had this?
Also, i cant even do anything else on it because my car isnt licensed with hptuners yet.

You cant view anything with the tuner untill you license the car to it.

thats the thing guy lol. It was bought from a dude with an 05 cobalt and its licensed for that. it does have 8 credits on it as he bought credits before he sold it. im registered on hptuners, but i cant see how to get started at all, i read that you have to first read the pcm to get the vin number and pcm info to to be able to license it

You can read any pcm (HPT supported) with HPT without it being licensed. You can not edit them. If you are having trouble reading a pcm, try to connect to the car and scan it. If you can scan then you should be able to read. If you still can't read, try unchecking the high speed box on the flash/read window that pops up.

Got it figured out a couple days ago. Changed speed limiter, rev limit, deleted torque management, and just tonight I smoothed out my timing a little. Also licensed and deleted torque management and some DTCs on Vet's coupe this is definitely a learning curve!

Changing the rev limit was pointless, we dont make power on a stock cam past like 5300 rpms.

And you do want some TQ Mgnt, personally I would never get rid of it all.

No,no I changed rev limit lower than stock, just because of that same reason. then changed my shift points back To stock. And my tq management still works with the Trac button on. Otherwise I have it set to kick in at less than 70% throttle, or more than 5100 rpm
