Just verifying. The manual says there is only one 5 second relearn for the overkill pcm rather than the normal 30 minute one. I've never heard this before so just want to make sure this is true for the 04+.

Please reply asap. my car is cooling down right now so I can put this wizair and tb spacer in also. thanks!

Sorry i'm late this section usually gets replys but not right away. Case learns usually dont take but a cupple seconds to do. So that will be fine. As far as a 30 minute case learn what do you mean by that? Unhooking the battery for 30 minutes? because thats the only thing i can think of that you have to do for 30 minutes. Just to let you know disconnecting the battery and a case learn are to different things...and also do to different things.

He's not talking about a case learn. He means the security relearn.

5 minutes is probably right. You can set within the PCM how long to take during the security relearn. The downside to this is someone with five minutes (instead of 30 minutes) could potentially steal your car.

Oh...how could someone steal your car in 5 minutes? just wondering because i don't know. Could you explain to me a little more about this security feature.

Sorry for thread jacking. It's still kinda on subject and maybe we'll both learn something.

The security relearn is set to 30 minutes so that it would be pretty hard or un-nerving for someone stealing your car to sit there for thirty minutes and go through the procedure. The security system is designed so that the key turning in the ignition cylinder creates a particular resistance. The PCM learns this resistance. If someone comes along and wants to jack up your ignition cylinder and start to hotwire it, it would take them 30 minutes to get the PCM to relearn the hotwired resistance. Now it only takes five minutes.

But, they have to know that this has been done to your car, know what wires to mess with, and know about Passlock in general. But, that being said, I could do it.

Intresting. Thats something else I didn't know. So if it were as simple as this(wichim sure it could be if the right 2 wires were touched)- Touching 2 wires together you would have to hold them together for 30 minutes so the PCM could learn the new resistance?

You don't leave the car unplugged for 10 minutes.....it's the security relearn procedure for the passkey system....

    am I correct?

Yep! The PCM he sends you has been without power for the entire trip. You don't have to leave the car unplugged to clear it further.

I've used this procedure when I got an Intense PCM a few years ago. My car wouldn't start and these steps corrected the issue.
