I've got a guy here that wants to swap a SCed 3800 out of a 2000 buick (regal I assume) into a fiero with manual transmission and no A/C. I was wondering what to do with it regarding tune/PCM. Leave the 2000 tune/pcm? I'm not sure if it will even turn on without the transmission plugged in.

The pcm does not really care that there is no transmission connected. You will throw alot of DTC codes that should be removed, but this process is not really rocket science.

The 01+ bin files will require the security bits disabled, which can be a bit tricky. I have always ran 98 pcm/code on my manual trans stuff as it seems to be the easiest.

It works, but its not worth the headache convertering it to boosted stuff, and you have to run a 1bar map sensor, and 2 narrowbands if you wish to retain narrowband function.

The only possible problem with a auto file is some stalling when you push the clutch in... Some have found a solution in a TinyTuner table about the IAC, I personally have never had issues in the 3 manual trans 3800s I have built/tuned.
