Wanna know a secret? just unplug the IAT sensor and it will automatically show like -35 degrees.

I'm not fond of this....you would be better off having a good CAI and leaving your stock sensor in.....or.....you could wait and purchase a modified IAT from yours truly.

I sware it read 99 on mine. I will take a pic next time i go over to my brothers house and am tuning on his laptop so you dont think im crazy since my laptop is still broken. I actually learned this when doing our iat testing. Map also reads 99 when unplugged on my car.

    Map will read that.

IAT, and the ambient temp sensor will defailt to -40F in the case of a sensor failure. -38F is close enough.

I don't remember seeing any timing being pulled on that side of the air temp table...but it could default to a certain range if the sensor is bad or missing.

yeah it actually adds timing on that side of the table. 1 or 2 degrees if im not mistaken. And you know what now that you mention it i think it was the map that i was talking about when i said it reads 99 when unplugged. The only way the pcm should pull timing on a stock iat table is when the temp reaches 122*f or something around that

HRM. I thought for sure that it pulled timing at the -40 mark too... just since -40 usually meant a failed IAT, and the PCM would err on the side of caution.

Now I have something to do on my ride up to Green Bay in 20 minutes.

it could also be some type of failsafe that we aren't able to see.

You are correct. Stock tables only have timing pulled when the temp is high.

I have mine set so that at -40, it pulls 3* of timing. I have seen multiple IAT sensors fail and read -40, so it is set as more of a safety thing than anything.

i have my air intake temp +10* when its showing -40*F, but i have the happy knob set at 14*F which adds approximately 5-6* of timing from the stock 15* which im currently running ~20-21*. more/less timing at the switch of a button
