ok I recently bought my buddies DHP PCM from him to use on my grand prix, but im a little hesitant still. I was wondering if it's going from one basically stock GP to another, is there any reason to worry? we both have CAI, and thats about the extent. Next month im going to be replacing the ubend and the cat, but probably not much else than that. Is everything cool to use it?

Well, without reprogramming the VIN in the PCM to yours, its not going anywhere...

Maybe this is an Impala thing, but if the VIN in the PCM doesn't match the VIN in the BCM the PCM won't start as a security feature.

It's possible it could just be in the Impalas. I've never had a big issue with them in the GP's.

Probably is a Chevy thing then. Similar thing with the radio (programmed to VIN match with the BCM and will lock out if a mismatch occurs).

hook it up and see what happens... some will run kinda cruddy, if thats the case, take it to the dealer or someone with a Tech II and have a Case learn run, if it runs fine after installing it... you do not actually ahve to do a case learn
