Given some close calls with my PT lately, I picked up a couple spare PCMs for my 03 SSEi. If install the spare PCMs to do the Security Relearn and swap back in my original PCM, will I have to do the relearn again on my original PCM?

I guess my real question is once a PCM goes through the relearn for a particular car, does it maintain that password regardless if it's in the car or not?

    TIA

It's not a password. It's a learned resistance of the ignition cylinder turning with the key in it. Every one is different. As long as you ignition cylinder doesn't change, the PCM (once it has learned itself to that resistance) will remember.

BTW, I'm pretty sure you have Passlock, not Passkey.

Thanks for the response. My key has PK3 on it.

For future reference for others, I found these articles:
