    Hi all-
New member to the forum, but have been reading like crazy for awhile. Did a complete top swap on a stock '01 GTP I picked up with an extremely blown engine to an '07 L26 I bought ('07 top-swapped completely installed and running) and need a tune done like the desert needs the rain. Having some trouble finding someone local in the Mobile, AL area. Running the stock '01 GTP pcm right now.......I'll drive as far as needed reasonably; can anyone lend a hand?

you could order a tune through intense or 3800 performance until you can find a tuner

Thanks for the suggesion- looked into that; people seem to think it'd be a bad idea when I'd need to custom tune anyway being as I have a CAI and a couple other small things... I'd rather just get the tune done custom and be done with it....

you can get something that will be really conservative and youll be able to at least drive the car around normally until you get a good tune. i ran a low timing setup for a long time.

I'm running without the s-charger belt right now so i can be pretty sure it won't explode due to unknown amounts of KR- Things seem pretty tight as far as the top-swap goes; I really took a lot of time to do it clean and correct to the guide on this site (thanks so much for that), except I used the stock L26 oil pan slightly modified with my very effective grinder to fit. I was thinking of just throwing in a GT pcm in the meantime to compensate for not running the s-charger belt; but with the bigger L67 injectors I'm not sure how that would work out.....

I did the swap about three months ago; runs great without the belt-runs a little rough with the belt on..... so I took it off after running it for a day or two and have just been puttting around. Runs nice; idle is a little goofy fluctuating by 100-200 rpm at times, but I have an exhaust leak that needs attention too. Anyhow, I'll get the exhaust taken care of before I get the tune done. Having a very hard time finding someone local...been looking for awhile...sooner the better.

hey man i contacted 3800 performance about getting a top swap tune on my car and they told me that it would cost 50 bucks but i've already ordered a pcm from them once so maybe they're just giving me a discount or what not...50 bucks aint too shabby until i find someone that is willing to do a better tune on it!! also i have an 03 Monte SS but i'm just doing the L67 top swap so since you've jumped different superchargers and everything i dont know if it would still be the same price!! Just remember it never hurts to contact them and see what they are capable of doing and seeing how much it is...they should be able to give you a price estimate!! Hope this helps!!
