been reading thru all these threads and seen alot of people knocking zzp pcms, unfortuantely i ordered and installed one before i read all this. some have mentioned grenading the engine in one thread and others had mentioned tranny issues.. not sure what is ment by grenading the engine? anyone could clear that up great.. assuming too much fuel. not happy about having to shell out another 100 bucks for another pcm from somebody else but if it means saving the car i better. it's only got 58k miles on it. if anyone can lead me to some real proof not just oh ya you better change it that would be great. also all the threads i had read were old so has anything changed maybe? thanks in advance. mike

I've had great luck with my zzp PCM I had in my impala. With any off the shelf tune though, everyones car will react differently. A lot of cars can benefit from some fine tuning after getting an off the shelf tune.

X2 my PCM was from zzp, then I got a tuner. Now my tranny sucks but I cannot blame zzp because I stomp a car with 138k on it.

I knocked a lot when I had a zzp pcm. I had a wizaired, 3.5 pulley, 3" dp, 180 stat, 104plugs and still had 8* of knock. They like to run too much timing on them.

grenading an engine means blowing it up. could be caused from lots of different things, too much timing, running too lean, lots of knock retard, etc. Also, their pcm's still suck for GTP's and are unsafe in general. Some people run them with no issues, some people blow their motors. The only way to know for sure is to monitor for knock retard, air to fuel ratio.....a custom tune is the way to go if you can get it done. This is the safest and will perform the best. No way to know for sure how their tune agrees with your car unless you are scanning. Good luck.

    Intense is no better.

My motor was toasted from the ZZP PCM...I had FIVE of them.

And they were still wrong. All in programming mode.

DHP FTW...get one from 3800 Performance. The DHP is the best mail order tune ever.
