    this kinda stupid question, if i unplug the pcm for few hours or a day will it mess up or reset the programs in the pcm?

    No, the programming or settings are in the non volitile RAM.

    Nope, won't mess anything up.

    But what it will do is reset your fuel trims and transmission learned stuff. Not a big deal at all. Nothing different than disconnecting the battery. It will just drive different for a little bit. But no harm done at all.

    thanks, i have road salt on the cover. i was going to clean it off and paint it.
