Will a 2005 pcm work in a 2006 grand prix?
|
from what i have heard, yes, they will, but the gas gauge is reversed for some odd reason.
Yes, it will work. I have a 07 and will have to use a 05. You wil need to try to get a SC one. I called a GM dealership to see what it pulled up to replace a 07ECM and it pulled the 04+ SC ECM.
Could i get info from someone using a 05 pcm in a 06 gt please (07 may be the same but i dunno)
Looking to do this myself - Is the gas gauge backwards the only issue? - EG its just the PCM programmed to use reversed voltage to display to the gauge, its not a deeper issue that will mess with the range in the DIC etc.
Also has anyone come across a fix for the gauge? - i'm betting its a simple fix in a table somewhere, if not is it possible to just switch the wires on the gauge in the dash to fix it? Guessing its part of a massive cluster and if its the only issue with the swap i can get over it.
Also GM will show the PCM as the same part number cause it is physically the same - im sure they will flash to whatever you have.
-GeeBee ....gonna go make a real sig / avatar
i got an 04 pcm im willing to let go if anyone needs one. samething as an 05.
comp g pcm tho. so unless you got 3.29 gears it will need to be tuned before you can run it correctly.
well the guy that was supposed to tune my car didnt show so it's postponed for a few weekends. I'll let you know how it goes though.
