anyone using JAW WB?

Has anyone bought and installed the JAW WBo2 on their car yet? Im tempted to but after searching the site as well as the forum for the JAW, I cant seem to find an accurate install write-up.

Basically u get the circuit board and the LED display as optional. Buy the Bosch LSU Wideband Sensor anywhere it is sold and get 8 different wire gauges that are rated at least 3amps(can I use 18-24 gauge wire?). the wiring gets connected to the 5 pin layout but the 6th one I don’t know where(site says use a green color wire but where does it go?). im assuming the other end of the 6 wires run back and gets connected to the JAW circuit board?
And lastly, what about calibrating the O2 sensor? I suppose as long as the JAW is powered on the sensor should be functioning and fail correct? Just need some guidance and instructions b4 I spend the money on this lil project, that’s all. Thanks in advance

I own two Bosh WB sensors and a JAW. I have put it together, powered it up but have not yet been able to use it on the car thus far as it is on jack stands waiting for a tranny rebuild.

As for the wiring, thats where I came up short at. I wanted at least 20awg, or even 18awg. but have not been able to find an 8 - 10 conductor cable and any single rolls of wire are so overpriced it aint funny.

I dont know about the green colored wire you mentioned. There are six wires in the O2 sensor I believe, you buy a female connector and wire it from the connector to the JAW board. What I havent worked out yet either is a housing or enclosure for the unit.

Overall I like the system very much, I just wish he offered a more complete set up, i.e. sourced the wiring, enclosure and stuff like that. However, for the money it cannot be beat. I dont think I even have $150 in my set up but I also got my WB O2 sensors stupid cheap too.

I'll help you out as much as I can, just bear in mind I have not been able to run my unit yet. I may have to hook it up to my Rodeo and try it out there just to get used to it. If you are looking for more of a plug and play set up I would highly recommend you spend the money on one of the commercial WideBand set ups.

thanks for responding and letting me know what you know with the JAW. im currently using a PLX SMR-AFR but i dont know if i can trust it since it seems im always running lean(see reason above) and wanted to see if indeed I am right or not by getting another WB installed and running along with the PLX. I might as well pay the amount for both display and circuit board assembled and save myself the trouble of doing it myself. If I do plan on doing that I’ll try to let everyone know of my findings and opinions.

Yes, if you are not familiar with soldering then it would be worth the money to buy it pre-assembled. I used to work in component level electronic troubleshooting and so I had to solder a lot. Its not hard but if you have not done it before chances are high you will kill a component like a transistor or IC chip. Resistors, capacitors and such are a bit more resilient but you have to watch what you are doing with the solid state devices.

also, im more use to soldering wires, but i dont trust my abilities soldering on a circuit board along with resistors and capacitors
