Trying to use the Torque App in car but the App is saying it can't read from ECM. Any ideas why this would happen?

what adapter did you buy? Will it connect to other cars?
i have two that i got off ebay. I dont have another car to try it on at this time.
This is the ONLY cheap one that I would get...

I have this one and I have the OBDLink MX. THAT THING ROCKS! Buts its like 100 bucks...
^ the BAFX is the one that people seem to have the best luck with. I know that's what worked for me.
Ive had mine for 4 years and never had a single issue. The OBDLink MX is WAY FASTER than the BAFX tho. But If I need super high speed scanning, I use HPT. LOL! But yeah, the BAFX stays in the GTP and the OBDLink MX stays in the G8.
Also, DashCommand works well woth the BAFX unit. Torque works very well but if you need to see some PIDs that Torque doesnt support, DashCommand will more than likely support them. If not, you can buy the plugins for that particular year of car. I bought the 1998 GM plugin and the 2009 GM plugin (GTP and G8).
Well that's the thing I don't know how anyone claims one is faster than another. Even HPT and DHP are limited to how quickly the data comes out of the PCM which is every .173 second (173ms) so in reality they are all only able to scan at a rate of 4-5 per second.

I have tried the cheap adapters on ebay and Amazon. Had problems with no connecting, dropping signal, Bluetooth not connecting, etc. They suck. I run the OBD LX and it rocks. Cheaper then the MX. Runs $50.
^^^Good stuff!!!
I have this one. All those little blue ones that look similar seem like they're clones all over amazon/ebay - https://www.amazon.com/Veepeak-Bluet...ZWVT5TM0Q60ANH
It connects and works ok. The polling is slow, imo. Torque's intervals are set to the lowest, but using more than one PID causes significant delay for me.
Did you change your MAF over to Hz Scotty? That makes things easier.
Jeff
Maf kPa? My torque reads in G's/Second and CFM. There's a formula that you can input in the custom PID that allows you to use Maf Hz. I found that it's easier for me to correlate where I had an issue. I used the stock table but it was too rich. I probably could have changed the IFR but I like to keep it the same for changed just for E85 or injector size.
gotcha
This is the second scanner i got off ebay i thought maybe it was the scanner but everything seems to find eerything in the torque program like hooking up by Bluetooth but it had a issues getting connected to the ECM. Or at least thats what the app tells me.
