I'm looking for a decent handheld tuner for my 03 gtp. I Know a dyno tune is best but i just want something to add pressure in the tranny lines, remove rev and speed limiter, and all that good basic stuff.

no such thing. you need to buy a tuner, like DHP or HPT .

Dang.. I think hpt and everything is just a little to far out of my automotive knowledge haha. Guess I'll just get a dyno tune when I get the mods started

a little reading goes along way. dhp runs about 250 new. htp has support but cost more. you dont need a collage degree to learn to tune.
and a street tune is much better. sadly a lot of shops dont have a clue how to tune a 3800. some do, most dont. call and make sure they have tuned a 3800 before.

Yeah I've read that a lot of places don't know how to tune a 3800 does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to get a tune in Minnesota??

I would get a canned tinge from overkill. Best way to do it is to buy a spare pcm, send it to him then when it comes back, just swap the pcm with the tuned one

Minnesota has two. I only know because I checked as well. I absolutely in no way can vouch for anything their website or techs say. That said, I've already considered both but haven't made contact.
One is DB Performance in Rogers. The other is in Elk River called HighTech Performance or something like that, iirc. Just checked, its HiTech Motorsport in Elk River.
I'm interested to know any results.

I live in Rogers and have been to DB a few times, not for tuning but I did use their dyno before.
I work part time for napa and go in the shop sometimes to see what they work on when they order parts. Their biggest things are more import related and mustangs are their big thing too. They can do everything and I rarely ever hear bad things about them, good group of people I think. I feel some places get a bad rep when it's partly the vehicle owners part for an issue.
I just don't feel that you'd get your moneys worth if all you did was a few bolt ons. If you have a pretty fancy build with high end parts and really trying to push for power there would be more benefit from the dyno and being able to control things better.
I haven't heard much about the place in Elk River, read reviews I guess. There is also MAPerformance in Twin Cities here, they have a dyno but not sure if they tune cars unless you have them install parts for you.

Yeah it won't be to crazy high end as its my dd and I'm only 17 haha but the only thing I really have left to do before cam and rockers and such is headers
