    My god the data polling options and interpolation with filters is a win. Fine tuning the car will be alot easier for with consideradtion to throttle transitions etc....

    The .bin question has been asked already in the main release thread, same with a million other questions. Most answers will be there and reading the help files.

    I believe they will be adding the .bin feature back but just didn't make the first cut.

    if you do the upgrade to 3.0 and don't save a copy of 2.24, you won't be able to go back to 2.24 until hp tuners rereleases 2.24. I found this out the hard way, but thanks to Bill, there was a copy of 2.24 in his dropbox. 3.0 does have a faster scan rate and more features, but I wonder how much difference it makes on a car 15 years old. I messed around with 3.0 this morning and couldn't figure out how to add the replacement of histograms, so reverted back to 2.24

    Like Bill said, I can't open .bin files yet. So, until that happens, I'm going to have to stick with 2.24. Which will probably be forever. But, if someone from HPT is reading this, I love you guys. Muah!

    I was thinking about loading up 2.24 and opening, then saving any .bin's that I'd want/need as HPT's. Problem solved.

    Pat... I don't believe it is related to versions. They changed up their pricing structure, it's on their product page.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Many members/people hate the fact that all the years they put into making configs are no longer able to work with the 3.0 and they do not wish to remake them all. They say the 3.0 offers a far better and easier setup for configs but I haven't tired it yet. I also don't tune anything but my own stuff really and have made maybe 4-5 configs total in the 4 years I've owned it.

    You can just back up your 2.24 and then download 3.0 and have both on your computer.
    I already answered that. And has been answered 20 times on HP Tuner forums.

    Rename it as VCM Suite 2.24. Then the new 3.0 will download it's own file. Then create a short cut for 2.24 on you desktop so you can still open 2.24 when you need too. Otherwise everytime you click vcm editor or scanner it will auto open 3.0.

    I must be doing it wrong, I have both versions downloaded, and when I install the 3.0 and then try to open 2.24, I get the message that a new version is already downloaded.

    on a different topic, I'm a bit happy about the new serial input for widebands. the hp tuners guys are going through the process of getting a lot of different protocols established so you can see the wideband data through a serial port from the actual gauge, and wont need to mess with the a/d inputs. I am a bit curious if the serial input is going to be only available to pro versions of hp tuners.

    Doesn't seem like anything has changed on the tuning side of things. I don't notice any new parameters or anything. It would be nice if they would let us control driver demand though.

    3800 related and most GM stuff in general hasnt had many new add on's because they are so well covered already. They add new ford and dodge support daily, so if you owned one of them that's where you see things change.

    The scanner in roughly 2x faster at scanning and showing data and for some it makes tuning easier with new scanner features. Like VVE tables for Gen 4 V8 cars, math parameters and so on.

    I have not played with 3.0 much yet, but I'm struggling trying to get my histograms working again. They look like they got blown out whenever I upgraded on my laptop. I see you can import them, but don't have any to import.

    Got any working ones you'd mind sharing? Mostly I use the KR/RPM/MAF histogram and the MAF/LTFT one.

    I still have Bill's config saved from 2.24, but it doesn't seem to bring the histogram config in with it when I import.

    I ended up switching back to 2.24. when you import your histograms to 3.0, you have to click "up one level" when you try to import a new graph. also, the histogram may not work like it did with 2.24. I'm waiting for them to get the serial input method done before I try to mess with 3.0 again.

    If they do not carry over and some don't for sure, I would take an hour or whatever to remake them. Not everything on mine did that's for sure.

    The new graphs function is pretty easy and the same concept applies. Just make sure that whatever you are trying to log needs to be in the channels display.

    I think that's my biggest problem. I rebuilt my KR histogram by hand, but when recording only the RPM axis updates. The Airflow g/s won't change. I think it may have to do with not having the right sensor (SAE corrected, specific, or generic) sensor logging in the channels view. I need to play with it when I have more time. I upgraded on my laptop, then went to log to troubleshoot an issue and found out right then in there in the driveway things were not the same.

    I don't know if I'm retarted here or what. I've been trying to get the simple KR histogram (now called graph) working.

    Column = Cylinder Airmass (g)
    Row = Engine RPM

    When scanning the Cylinder Airmass column won't update. Surely because it isn't a "channel" I'm scanning. But it's not a channel that I can add to the list to scan. What am I missing here?

    So to anyone else fighting this, I've found it is a bug in scanner 3.0. I've got a ticket open with them now.

    I have talked directly with hptuners about the bin. File delema and they have informed me the they have no plans on adding it back into the software for secerity reasons aka revers engineering.. They figure tiny tuners has been revers engineered from there software is what I gather from them so don't get your hopes up that they will add it back in I've been told that they have no plans too...
