Just get one from 05 and live with the fuel gauge being backwards, or pick up a stock gtp pcm and have the local tuner shop work from there...

The pre-06 pcms from Will are unlocked, but being he is the only one who has figured this thing out, it's understandable he wants to protect his "secret recipe" lol.

YOU KNOW once you become a cook at KFC and learn the secret recipe, you cant quit, if you try to quit the KFC secret service comes and they shoot you out back of the resturaunt...

I would love to have a overkill tune, But I am also going to turbo the vehicle and would like to have it tuned to perfection and I just don't see how someone could do that with out being hooked into the vehicle! I mean he could get close possibly but im sure it would need tweaks here and there.. So that was why i was asking about getting one unlocked hell I'd pay him to just unlock one so i can tune it myself be more than happy to give him a few $'s to send me a unlocked one so i can tune to my liking. I really don't want the gas gauge reading backwards as my wife still drives this car also So unless Overkill would sell a unlocked one I think i'll just wait it out..

FWTW I was totally ready to drop the dime on this tune, but of course I have the flipping AC Delco PCM.
Thanks for putting the effort into unlocking these PCMs, and if you can crack the AC Delco boxes I’ll be in line for the tune.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!

I emailed him about it in the middle of December and never heard back. I wish we could hear something, even if it's a "still working on it" or "not possible" or "I gave up on it"

Just so we're not sittin here waiting for something that isnt coming. I am for sure still in the market for it.

There's an issue with the 08's, two pcm's came in 08's... a Delphi one and an AC Delco one. Cars with the Delphi pcm are tunable, cars with the AC Delco pcm are not, and the two pcm's are not interchangable. The AC Delco pcm wont program, last he spoke to me, Will couldnt even read them correctly.

He sent me a Delphi one and it wouldnt even start my car, he confirmed it by putting an AC Delco pcm in his 04 (stock Delphi), and that wouldnt start his car.

The last I spoke to him, he told me he was waiting for a pin-out diagram from a GM tech friend, so he could work on building something to read the pcms, and then HOPEFULLY being able to go on to program them.
That was in like June, though... so Im starting to become curious about any progress (or lack thereof) and I see Omega is too...

'07 and earlier are all Delphi, and fine, though.

I thought about rockers, but those also give the best results with a tune :|
But then again I guess that's the only step left for me to take before I HAVE to start tuning for stuff.

And on another note I got a response from Will. The news is not good for us with Delco pcm's.

    Will says:

At the moment I don't forsee it being possible. Sometime in 08, GM switched the 3800 vehicles over to the Candii processing system (faster system). The way that I'm able to retune 06+ PCMs to use 2005 software means the systems are incompatible.

The only way that I can forsee it working is if the other systems such as the BCM, ABS module etc were also reflashed to 05 or even 07 coding but this is something that I haven't tried.

Believe me I would LOVE to be able to reprogram your vehicle. Sorry for the bad news!
So there you have it. I dont think it should be said "never", cause stuff comes out and breakthroughs happen... but atleast within the next few years I dont think it's gunna happen.
Oh well. Sucks. Whatcha gunna do. I guess it's time to be happy with what I have for now and stop thinking about "Go", and start putting money into "Show"

I think he only ships 2 days a week, and he has a real job and family and stuff too, I think mine took about 2 and a half weeks to arrive. Dont worry, he'll get it to you

Received it today, That is a nice write up that you include with it, very professional looking Will.

Got it installed tonight and oh my what can I say but its ALIVE LOL

I'm a noob to this extra power it has now so to me it seems amazing but to others with S/C engines its still slow

one undocumented change I noticed was the DIC alerts me every time I set the cruise along with a chime sound
I wonder what other features have been updated

With you say that above about the DIC.... I believe how he got the fuel gauge to re correctly is he took part of the binary files that make up the 06+ for the fuel gauge, and put that in the 05 PCM. Because the cruise thing never chimed on mine until i put a 05 pcm in my car. I hope someone understands this......

I am sure there has been no progress or Will would have let us know. Unfortunately there probably is not much hope for us 08's with ac delco's. Would be nice if I was wrong though!
