Re: 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula-Update- 3/2/2014
Took off the passenger fender and fender well today to replace with the one from the 79 that I got from the junkyard the other day. I realized how back in the day they made cars to last , it took me 1 hour to locate the 15 bolts this fender was attached to . Here is a pic-

Heading later on today if weather permits to get the new radiator support and radiator I got for $20.
Total spent so far on paint for the underhood , all engine parts that I will need and the purchase of the car is $2050 not bad . :)
Re: 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula-Update- 3/2/2014
you could take the other fender off at this point easy, cause you know where all the bolts are now lol
then take the bumper and rad support off, then clean paint and all that good stuff to the bay, then put the engine in and the body parts last. leaving the front clip off leave lots of extra room to work in, as you can see already with the fender and inner fender well off.

So went to get the rad. support and radiator and came back with a bumper cover , edelbrock intake and a 750 cfm holley carb that needs rebuild. Im also buying from this guy a set of 6x-4 heads that have been milled with bigger valves which im hoping he will sell for cheap. The heads will help me go from 8.8 cr around 9.1 cr.

Re: 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula-Update- 3/5/2014
Front end off with semi-gloss paint , ready for new suspension components and poly body bushings . Got all my engine stuff in the mail , will start that this weekend. Plan is to finish engine and transmission , drop it in, wire everything correctly and install body panels back on then I will start on the inside > upholstery > paint > glass > moldings > decals then ALL done .
