I normally post in here about my grand prix.

I have a 2008 honda civic in which needed a new starter. I never let anyone usually touch my cars but I had a place go ahead and replace my bad starter.

I went to pick it up and the mechanic was still working on it. 30min later I go in the garage to talk to him and he said I will have to leave it until Monday because he stripped the threads. He told me he would need to remove the starter and re-tap and refresh the bolt threads. He showed me the bolt and .25in was torn up.

I am not happy about this at all and the damage that has been done.

My question is, how do I handle this when going to pick up the vehicle? What can I do to ensure that it has been taken care of the right way?

    Thanks.

It a rather simple fix so i wouldn't worry about that to much but I would damn sure make sure you are not paying anything additional in labor and or parts. His screw up...his lost in additional labor or parts.

Indeed... make sure they don't add an aditional hour of labor just for his screw up. Have them break down amount of time every little thing took.
I Hump things for fun. Otto the Grand prix... Stupidcharged with bolt ons and stuff.
