pretty much anything is possible, just depends on how much $$$ you got, and by the sounds of things, you are going to need alot.

personally i dont see why you would want to do this. but i cant hate if you actually go through with this. so good luck i guess.

I say if you have the resources then go for it. It's your car and YOU like it. Heck, I used to race w/ a guy that had a blown 454 shoved into a Geo Metro body, full cage, yada yada. Did it move, hell yes, but man was it ugly, lol... But then again when you run that fast who cares.

A guy in the ford contour world is doing a RWD SVT Contour. Taking a 3L out of a taurus and mating it to a T-5 trans from a mustang and using a mustang rear end. He has a machine shop so it makes it easier for him. So basically what im saying is, if you have the will to do it, and the time, money and disire, I think just about anything is possible

Why not step it up a bit. Keep the engine in the car transversely, as it'll fit best that way. Then take the AWD 4T65E and make the car .....

One of my best buddies has a 97 gp he made rwd. Between him working full time and school full time it took him 4 years to complete the project LOL. Dont get me wrong, its a fuggin awesome car and very unique being a rwd turbo 97 gp, but the fab work is immense. I think all said and done it cost him around 15k to finish it.

    That's only because the Aztek's AWD'ness couldn't hold more than 138.76 AWHP.

I would like to see what the thing weighs, I saw the build he had, it was very nicely done.

My only complaint when I see these kind of swaps going down is would you really want to put the car on the track or even drive it down the road? Doing a swap like this means cutting into the structural integrity of the car and reinforcing everything adds weight. Just like cutting the top off a car will make it weak, so manufactures build reinforcements everywhere to keep the car stable and fun, but in turn it can add a lot of weight. This is why its best to work with a car in the layout it already has.

Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

It really is an unique and sick ride now. You would never know it till ya look underneath Its true he did do some extensive modifications, but also alot of reinforcing so im pretty sure its solid as hell. As for weight, couldnt tell ya. Im sure it will still beat the snot outta my car LOL. Hopefully this spring we will be going to the dragway to have some fun.
