Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Working on a wheel/tire change
Dropped the wheels and tires off today to get mounted and balanced. I thought about doing them myself, and probably will in the future. $64 to mount and balance 4 tires... Maybe a fair price, but more than I want to pay. I was willing to shell out the cash this time because it hit 115° here today and I didn't feel like wrestling tires in that heat.
Thinking about grabbing one of those manual tire changers. Something like the ones harbor freight sells, but slightly stronger. I see them for about $100. If it proves to be too flimsy, I can beef up the weak points. I have a welder and a grinder.
Took the long way home from dropping off the tires. Who could have done this?

Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
Looks like photobucket is no longer allowing (free) 3rd party hosting. I may continue to update using another service, but I'm not going back to re-link the pictures in all the previous posts. Sorry guys. I was actually pretty happy with how well I documented everything. All for not now... Thanks photobucket.
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
i seen that in your last post, whats that all about? i wonder if my crap is all missing now too?

flickr will be next. Find a private host, like supermotors. I've been using them for over 15 years.
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
What the F?! I'd be livid. I'm worried now too. Do they have a stated limit of photos you can post? Or do they calculate the data size? F**k photobucket. It's a jungle of ads. Often crashes. Don't even try using a slightly older PC with it.... and now this shyt. Gonna have to PDF my pages.
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
I just switched to Flickr a couple weeks ago and wished I'd done it years ago. Much faster too

My isp offers free hosting services with the service. I can't remember how much space you get but I've been using it for almost 15 years now and have not run out of space yet. Plus or down side the images do not get compressed.

I guess my images were getting too much attention. I haven't seen them blocked anywhere else. Yet...

I'm leaning toward Google Photos or Amazon Prime Photos. They seem the most stable. However, this is the internet... It could all change overnight. I'm in the process of slowly moving everything over.

I think it's based on views. This thread has well over 170,000 views and 960+ replies at this point. The ads on PB are out of hand. I planned on switching my hosting service for my next project and just fighting my way though for the remainder of this build. Of well.

Anything has to be faster than Photobucket.

Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
I might try google or amazon as well. I think my isp has photo storage/hosting, but nah.

I got the same email. Logged in and my images are on there.

First share using Google photos. Let's see how it goes...
Old wheels and tires:

New wheels and tires:

Sitting at 4x4 height, but for what I paid I'm not complaining. Still need lugs, covers and center caps, but those aren't in the budget this month.
Thanks to Spazzz for the Google photo posting "how-to"

Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
those look so much better. that height dont bother me at all, its a truck lol
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
Looks bad-ass! You gave up a little of your sleeper status, though. Worth it, I'm sure.
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
Those wheels look awesome. :th_thumbsup-double:
I'd say keep it at that height, makes working on it that much easier. lol
Plus it adds to the totally stock, utilitarian look...
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
Am I the only one that can't see the images? Same thing in Spazz's how to thread. I wanna see. LOL

I don't mind it either. Makes the truck look a little shorter/boxier.

Wider contact patch, better ride, better mpg's, lower highway rippems... I'm okay with that compromise.

Thanks. It will definitely be easier to work on now! Never was a fan of the slammed look anyway.

Looks like the big ones don't show on tapatalk, but do on the web version. I'll have to post the smaller shrunk ones to see if they show on tapatalk.
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Photobucket hosed me.
Wtf eh. This is embarassing.
The big pics must have timed out for some reason.
At least the smalls are in the photobuckef thread

I was on my PC earlier. Right now I'm on tapatalk, and all I see is a small shadowbox where the image should be. On my PC, I saw a large shadowbox with a dash in it.
