Hi,

My girlfriend has a 2010 Honda Civic with about 80k miles on it. I've noticed on startup, especially in this cold weather, the engine has a pretty noticeable rattle that sounds like its on the exterior of the engine but within the engine bay. Once the throttle is touched the engine sounds smooth and I believe when the engine is warmer the noise is gone. Also, driving around it sounds fine except for maybe if I come to a complete stop. Reminds me of how the GPs run kind of rough at a stop light with the A/C on but noiser for the civic.

I opened the hood this morning and it sounds like the noise is coming from the belt/pulley area. I'll probably start with what I've heard from Scotty in the past and remove the belt and spin all the pulleys. Just curious if anyone has other thoughts on where I should start.

Thanks in advance for any help.
