    Hey everyone
Is there anyone familiar with modern turbocharged Ford engines? Are they reliable enough?
And particluary about 2016 Ford Explorer. Is it okay with EcoBoost or it would be better choose N/A V6?
The car is nice overall, only engine is questionable

personally for something that big id go with a v6, stress is spread out over more displacement.
My friend had/has a 2.3 turbo and it has a lot of problems.
Ive personally found ford V6 engines to be really reliable. just my .02

The i4 turbo in the escape is a perfect match. It completely moves out reliably , even in the hilly terrain in the outskirts of WNY
it does has some dead spots but the transmission seems to correct it quickly
coukdnt see this being possible on the base model without FI
now with the heavier *explorer - no way

I think its too much to ask a 2.0 (even turbo'd) to move an explorer. my worry would be in towing. I would be afraid I would heat soak the IC from being on the turbo a lot, and then loose boost. If I got the turbo engine id have to upgrade the IC to something larger.

I have a 2015 explorer Sport with the twin turbo V6..it is a great suv..had it since July and it has plenty of power..365hp from factory..it actually does put you back in your seat..not bad for a 7passenger grocery getter....with a tune, 3bar map sensor, colder plugs, bumps up another 100hp for less than 800bucks...Trans can handle 600hp from the factory...in researching the turbos are good for 150k as ford did a lot of testing on it...the new platinum is the limited (fully loaded explorer) with the Sports twin turbo v6...if your getting an explorer I say don't right and get the Sport...ford actually did a good job with it...then he sport has a better stock tune, stiffer suspension, body stuffing crossbars, etc..it actually handles nice...and the AWD I'd a true 50 50 split at WOT...anyway, that's my .02...and mine came with a racing strip from the factory..lol..I'll keep it for awhile as never seen another one like it

2002 GTP..DD.. Topswapped Gen V L26, XP cam, Full Size IC, E85, 2.6 Pulley,SD Headers, K&N Intake, N*/Lq4,FP Rewire, TEP Trans, F body Fronts, GXP Rear Brakes, LE Spoiler, AGXs with vogtland springs, bonni gxp rims, Timboku Tuned

I screws up what I was saying. I was talking about the escape being ok with the i4 AND turbo and saying it would suck without it. i then went on to say "no way " would it be possible for the EXPLORER not escape. Too early not enough coffee
