If I would do one I would probably powdercoat the rotor, and source a hollow cam. Aren't LS cams hollow?
I think LS cams are hollow yeah.
Either way, for what you had into your lamp it came out great. The only way I'd do it is if I could do it on the cheap too.
I think all said and done i have maybe 20-30 in it which is okay for me. And maybe a few lazy hours in the garage.
As for the shade thats a good idea.

looks cool but ive seen cams rust really easily, did you clear coat it?
Didnt clear it, it had been sitting in the garage for weeks and never rusted so I'm thinking it'll be okay
You could always just wipe a bit of WD-40 on it
