Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
If I have the year correct, this is a 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe with a 289 CID V8. Damn, its pretty! Truly candylike in person. This is a job that was brought to us in pieces, to be painted and buffed then assembled by the customer. A buck-saving approach that we offer, have done several this way. Nice job, Mr. Owner. Jobs like that get the first round of touch-ups free, within reason. Thats why I got to take these pics.
Of course a GTO same year might stomp a mudhole in it then walk said mudhole dry... :) ... but lookers is meant to get looked at, thats what they do. I enjoy looking at this car. The clouds were cooperating nicely and the color looks so rich, plus I like the hue.

Firebird update. If'n you squint real squinty-eyed at it... Red and metal are gonna look GOOD against the 'vette color. Mmm

LS7 with letters ground off the intake because they don't clear the air intake... that should give you an idea how little wasted space is in that area.

Absolutely beautiful, ALL of them, ESPECIALLY the Firebird!!! You do such awesome work, you should be very proud! I don't know what else to say...
Imagine that, a woman that's speechless...lmao

I'll take it as high praise and thank you kindly. Playing with cars is my excuse for not growing up. I saw a hippie on Dragnet once who said it best...
Everybody has a bag, man. And everybody has a gig. If your bag and your gig jive, man thats groovy! In the words of the life coaches "Do what you like."
Its hard work for all of us but the rewards are visually satisfying.

Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
why does my firebird look to be scratched on the quarter panel by the door?
inside is looking damn nice, cant wait to see more.
Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
Thanks, our man is all over it so it can go to OZ for interior. U talking bout down where the - aw what to call those things- flare... goes? By those mount holes in front of the wheel? Clearcoat sanding sludge. Some is visible on the shelf area too. Clumped dry powder. Just buzz me with a cattle prod next time and I won't jump so high, lol.
Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
i guess the ground effects or fender flare holes are what im seeing. looks mess up tho in the wheel well edge. other then that optical illusion i love it.

.................................................. ...........right ,,,,here ^^^^^^^^ lol
Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
Yeah thats totally not scratches but it IS an area thats covered up anyway so it wouldn't matter. Polishing before assembly keeps "white gap syndrome" away. However it sure ramps up the scratch penalty level for the assembler. Just slap some DC on it, right? Guess who will be hanging sheetmetal and glass and probably all the trim.
Since I haven't complained much lately (a relative statement) here goes... MY HAND HURTS! FUG! Tried to put soft earplugs in today, crap can't do with right hand. That was awkward and maddening. Can't work clothes buttons with it, can't start or even pick up small screws with it reliably. If I try, I have to visually confirm that I've picked the object up. Holding air tools wide open for precise work is really killing the fun. Have to choose between wrist brace or gloves and can't allow myself to get angry, ugh. Endo-rant, I'll run hide in a black and white western to bore it outta me like always. But I grow weary of the pain and reduced ability, and the keeping it to myself.

Scotty, your bill is reaching epic-ness. You sure you don't want to slap this together yourself? JK. Wrong scattershield, d'oh. Was shipped with the package, and luckily the right one is shorter not longer. Shh, thats hot rod life! Coated stuff showed up, and that mat on top of the Cool-It is said to be nascar-spec, a grand a roll. It does work. Hope your getting a penny for every forum fix, man. lol

ctfu! No ahem, comment... But pretty sure loaded chassis, wheels / tires, engine / trans, and the car itself are in comma territory before the year or two of fab and paint. I don't get to nor want to speculate about that end of it. Boggles the mind.
Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
gas monkey could have that build done in 4 weeks, put 50 into it and sold at auction for a 10 grand loss no problem lol
Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
junk i found a project for you on CL... posted it in the craigslist thread
Re: Work junk, and junk... at work. By 'junk.
But would you take it out and beat on it? This is reality without the TV! Its gonna be interesting making it all happen. Lots of fresh builds end up for sale everywhere and I'll never understand that. I drive junk so it makes no sense to me.

I truly loved Nell. Thats the 72 Cutlass Supreme in my member's ride post... but it had a 350 Rocket. I was working towards a 455 for it. Very fun car, and same as your link just different roof and quarters on the Supreme.
Love that Q-Jet-

I kinda spaced telling the whole my junk story. Nell was a part of it for 22 years and I miss her.
