With the insurance company considering the fender/bender accident the gtp was in they considered the incident a loss/total and they gave the option of buying the car for ~$2700. Which leads me to finding a replacement vehicle. I’m going to try and keep the budget under $3k. It doesn’t have to be a beater car as I have JK wrangler (which gets poor mileage due to running 34” tires lol), so something rear-wheel drive I was considering. I also am trying to get something that’s either with factory turbo (doesn’t matter drivetrain) or v8 which is awd or rwd. Something that isn’t prone to breakage if I turn the boost up and at least be reliable getting around (did I mention a budget of $3k? lol). So let’s hear your suggestions

Nothing wrong with getting another GTP if you like them. Not much else out there with that kinda bang for the buck. I'm so biased that I'm on my third and would buy another.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

Audi A6, they can handle the power all day long and are solid.

Might need to up the budget a bit
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

put the money you get back from the insurance directly into the loan you have on the wrangler. pay it off. buy new car.

it's clearly not the fast method, but it's the right method.

hard to find an ls1 fbody as i stay away from the lt1. if i raise my budget to $5k then i can find decent high mileage 98 ls1 but my past experience with the 98s has been spun rod bearings :-\

Freeman.. Look into the performance mods on the Audi's and how the drivetrain and overall car hold up to it.

... ooooor pick up an antique beater that needs love. Like a rusty Firebird or a Nova sedan if you're into four doors. They are out there, look. If you're nearly doubling the budget, build something con huevos. Liability insurance is cheap on old cars and generally speaking they have tougher transmissions and axles that can tolerate mods, not to mention less inspection and sniff test hassles to hinder performance exploration.

^saw sco77s fiero for sale that he did a l67 swap. My only concern is the unbalanced flywheel. When it comes to transmissions especially manuals i know jack sh!t lol. I always wanted a fiero swapped l67/l32.
