I'm sure theres a million awesome things i can do.
and oh how ill hear all about how apple sucks etc, don't care

what i wanna know is from android users, whats good apps to get? whats Key things i wanna know/do with this phone.
i will be putting all my currently used apps onto this one since theres 90% of them have a iPhone/android alternative.

There are no MUST HAVES or OMG YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THIS APP type of thing on a andriod.

Just pick what you want and run with it. These new phones have so much memory and processing power, it's hard to really really slow them down. They make a one touch "off" or "close out" for any app that is open but not being used.

I'm not someone that is super attached to my phone, like I don't need it in my hands 24/7 type of thing so my battery lasts like 3-4 days sometimes before I see 15-20%. But if I use pandora, it sucks it down kinda fast.

You'll have to let us know what you think of it. I'm still on a GS2. It still functions perfectly, so I've never had the desire to ditch it. However, the OS is so out of date now that a lot of apps and updates aren't playing nicely with it. Might be forced to upgrade eventually, and I'm trying to decide between the GS6 and the HTC 1 M9.

You can't just treat this phone like a flash drive? That's all I've done for years and it's the best/easiest way to transfer files.

iTunes is garbage anyway. All my music is saved to my SD card and I play it through the Google Play music app.

If you MUST stick with iTunes it looks like there are a few options

I've been an android user since my very first phone and haven't looked back since. I have the Note III. a couple apps I really like is textra messaging app. I just think it's alot smother than the original. It has a pop up window that appears when your phone is off so you don't need to unlock your phone, go into the messenger, then text back. I find that convenient. And another one is SwiftKey keyboard. Again I think it's alot cleaner and more smooth. You can change themes and other cool things like your stats for typing... Just my 2 cents

Representing all the N/A out there. Fastest stock N/A you will ever come across.

    Textra eh?

you ever used Chomp? i just installed that and it seems fun.

as far as iMessage goes, disable it on your iPhone.
then i went into my apple account online and deactivated my phone from my apple account.
haven't had an issue with my wife texting me (she has an iphone6)

Something simple, but I have an HTC One M8, and the Messaging "app" the phone comes with kinda sucks.

I downloaded something called "Textra" and use that instead. Way better than the regular one. So much customization on your layout, faster at sending larger files, better for group messaging. You can also text/call people or receive them without having to close another app your on, like facebook for example.

    - Scrolling through facebook, someone texts you, the text pops up (but doesnt cover the whole screen, and you can still see facebook in the background), you respond and the texting app disappears on its own and you resume where you were.

Not sure how your regular messaging app is, but it might be worth looking into.

I guess we both agreed on the same app.

I didn't see you already mentioned it. Lol.

Apple is 10x better then samsung period. Phones are 10× better quality, and customer service 100 better.

No. That's just a personal opinion.

The one thing about iPhone's that suck, are their screens. You drop an iPhone from about 3 inches off the ground, the screen shatters. The amount of cracked/shattered iPhone screens between family and friends, is easily 3/4th of them.

I've been through 3 Androids, and dropped my phone on the cement a million times. Worst that's ever happened, is one crack. I'll take it.

There's pro's and con's of both. iPhone's are simpler and more "user friendly," i'd say. Android is much more customizable and more for the "techy" people. In my opinion.

Being either an iPhone or Android fan is all personal opinion. You're either one or the other.

Funny you should say this after I already mentioned this....

It's coming up on 4 years that I've had the phone. Not even a scratch on it anywhere, nor has it ever crashed. It's starting to act a bit flaky now as I said earlier, and I suspect that's because it's been at least 2 years since it had an OS upgrade available to it. Trying to update or run new apps on a greatly outdated OS is probably not meshing well. Other than that, the only thing it's needed thus far is a battery replacement. Then again, I actually take care of the things I own. It's been in a case since day one, and I've very rarely dropped it despite using it when I'm junk yarding quite a few times a year (the whole reason I even got a smart phone).

On the other hand, my boss has hated all 3 iPhones he's had, as have other people I've known due to frequent dropped calls and apps having issues right out of the box even after OS and app updates.

I'm not saying 1 is clearly better than another, because as DanPrix said, they both have their pros and cons. But to state that not only is one better, but that it is 10 TIMES better.....that's just asinine. The best smart phones on the market are not "10x better" than even the worst ones, let alone the best android vs. the latest iPhone. If you were even a QUARTER right that the difference was that blatant, Android would have been done a while ago instead of being right in the mix with iPhone sales.

This is far from the truth..lol...apple is made for simple people to use..it's ease of use..hence you cannot do crap with an io6 device..it's locked down...so yes, apple is better if you want to listen to music and have a basic smart phone that is super simple to use...but if you want to really have a powerful smart phone where you can customize and root and have better apps...android is far superior....torque app is a great example this alone! And fyi..all new apples will have a Samsung processor chip in them starting in a few months...interesting apple would use such a crappy part .
