I was looking into the Swann kit or Niteowl kit. One was $500 other was $300.
Ill need at least 3-4 cameras

my my biggest concern is image quality followed by durability (they will be installed in very hard to reach spots)

any one have one of those kits?

or would it be best to make my own ex: cameras , TB external HD, receiver , wires etc

I have a cheaper one (Zmoto) and had to have motion lights put up to get good night video. 4 cameras and gig hard drive works good enough. The dog, privacy fence and automated gate helps too.

Well thanks for the input. There are motion lights on the driveway side and rear of the house. It's not a high-crime area. Just a bit of land and nice fence ready installed. Looking for a good system. Don't want to worry about buying something cheap then needing extra lights or a dog lol

I heard a 12 Gauge Remington will get the job done lol. I'd invest in a home defense gun though. Maybe like a .22LR or a 9mm handgun?

I want something rolling 24/7 so I had video evidence of anything , even animals.

So I'm just wondering who had any experience with this and asking if they could chime in. Thanks!

this is what I have and use. I love it. crystal clear picture. Like most systems there is an app that you can remote view the cameras. Fairly easy to install. Still some features I havent used yet I'm sure.

Here is a screenshot with phone app. Pretty clear. Even clearer on a TV.

Wow. That's exactly what I wanted to hear / see. Thanks man. I think I just found it on amazon for $330 shipped too

the other kit I seen, the pic looks fuzzy and I was worried I needed to spend like $800+ to get an image as clear as what you posted

Oh sorry, I thought it was for mainly intruders. But the one Silver2kgtp showed looks legit.

With the system I use it can be set for continuous or motion detection.
