I rarely target practice our rifles, 2 are iron sights anyway for hunting in the woods where a scope is kinda annoying.
The ammo we have been using is atleast 15-20 years old when my dad bought a whole bunch. Only got a box or two left and every year I only take about 1-4 shots, so it takes awhile to go through them.
And ammo online can be cheaper sometimes, or fleet farm or gander mountain are cheaper. The cabela's store in town is over priced on everything. They wanted like 25-30 bucks for 300 rounds of .22 ammo, went half a mile down to road to gander mountain and it was 20 bucks for 333 rounds of a similar brand.
