I'm with selliot - is drinking a hobby?![]()
Drawing, hiking, exercise... all the lame stuff that consumes time when I'm not working or doing car shiz or partying. I had a TON of fishtanks but they all had to go because there was no time to care for them.![]()
Music (drums) and exercise. I also like to tinker with everything around the house but idk if that's really a hobby.
Yeah i tend to find stuff around the house and take it apart/mess around with it. I myself play videogames, watch youtube, and collect LEGOs. No hate please. Its childish yes i get it but i enjoy it. I dont necessarily play with them, i buy them and build them and then put thrm on display
I dig the Lego's. No hate here. I have quite a few sets kicking around too.
I have 2 vintage pachinko machines that I restored that we like to play. I have a pinball machine too, but it needs to be shopped (read- $500).
Besides that, I have a growing collection of postwar Lionel trains and accessories. I have them around the tree at every xmas (ran 3 trains simultaneously this year) but hoping to get a more permanent spot in the basement. Sad thing is that the current value of the trains around the tree is more than my GP, lol...
I also have a decent collection of vintage BMX bikes which I still ride (will never part with my chrome Hutch Trickstar) and lots of parts. I love getting out and just hitting the trails or street. Just me and my ride. No phone, no work, no b*tching, just me and the woods and/or pavement. I might be 37, but my love of riding hasn't died. Bad part is now I can afford to build the bikes I always wanted to. Heck, my daily ride cost me a tad over $1,200 to build.
I play video games on anything from my 8 bit Nintendo all the way up to PS2. Love some NHL2K on Dreamcast. Heck, my 3 "brothers from another mother" and I still play N64 Perfect Dark on the regular. I don't do any online gaming. Besides, it's no fun if I can't watch you throw the controller when I kick your a**, lol.
I also had many aquariums but have downsized to 3, a 90 gal. w/20gal sump, a 30 gal and a 2 gal (for my daughter). Need to restock the 90 since most of the fish are gone (died of old age). The Oscar that I had I could feed by hand, and he was larger than it! Would love to turn the 90 into a saltwater but just don't have the time and money right now so i'll stick with chiclid's for now.
I do enjoy drinking when I can but can't get trashed all the time like I used to. Not a good example for my daughter and I don't want to loose a weekend day to a hangover when I could spend it with her. I can say I've programmed some phone systems remotely whilst a bit tipsy though (while on-call on a weekend). I've been in telecom for 15 years now and I've got a few things kicking around that I guess would fall into "collection" status. A few Lucent/Avaya phone systems, an Audix VM, old phones in wierd colors, etc.. Good thing is I have unlimited access to Cat5 and can make any length Ethernet or phone cables I need, which comes in handy around the house or for friends.
I used to shoot competition archery taking 63rd in the world shoot in NY then 2nd in the indoor nationals I hunt I fish but all that has taken a back seat to college. My bow needs fixed. I used to be a certified bowtech but i lack the equipment. and I dd the GP it gets me where I need to go I guess lol
I also like to fish, sometimes. I get bored and want to go home a lot lol. I have 2 four wheelers up at my cabin that i drive a lot when i can. One is for me and the other for my brother. I have a .22 that i tend to shoot a lot. But now with the .22 ammo shortage, i try to save all of my ammo. YOUR DOGS LOOK BEAUTIFUL!! im a sucker for dogs. They always make me laugh just by watching them play with toys or just being goofy. Not a cat person though. I have a 4 (almost 5) year old border collie, german shepherd, blue heeler mix. Shes quite a handful alright lol.
No real hobbies I guess. I do bowl Friday nights in a league. I am not really that good, but it gets me out of the house. I also enjoy photography, though I haven't taken any good photos lately.
Other hobby is flying and working on an old airplane. I ditto the comment about your dogs. We have a rat terrier and she's like our child. She tries to manipulate us, i.e. Get me a treat, let me out, let's go for a walk, and the other one is when its time to go to bed.
I do like owning my '01 Silver GTP coupe. Have almost 140,000 miles and owned it since new.
haha i like playing with fireworks too! my dog being a border collie isn't all that stupid. she understands at least 20 different sayings, she would jump on the furniture when we weren't home so we had to put stuff on the couch. one time she pushed the item to the side and hopped right on up lol. she's ;lazy as hell and always makes us do stuff for her cause she's too lazy to do it herself. she's a great companion though
