Hey there GPF, just thought I'd post this up. I work at subway, and subway is 1 block from my school. I walked to subway today (it's payday), and saw a broken down, poor old golf. I thought it had potential, and low and behold, when I went to work, he was there about to put it on the trailer. I run out of the building, and offer him $100 cash. He says sure, and that he'd deliver it to me tomorrow, with the title. I gave him my number, and we'll see if I get a call tomorrow or not. The guy lives about 5 minutes away from my town, and said it's his work car. It's a blue (rustyish) 4-door golf, and I'm not sure what year. It's a 5-speed manual, and the only big problems are one tire with a slipped belt, and apparently the reason it "broke down" was a CV axle went out. I can't wait to see if I get it or not, and I have some big ideas for this car. If anyone else has owned a mid 90s golf, or owns one, any advice would be appreciated. I won't have particulars until tomorrow, and then I'll post it all up. /end celebration lol

That's what I plan to do. Matte black, coils, and some good wheels and continue loving 35+ MPG.

I'm not saying it'll be cheaper than diesel and all that, but I don't want diesel.
