Some day when I have some spare money I'm going to run my water setup again. Need new fans and tubing.
Hmm.
How about the small self-contained liquid setups?
My past experience tells me they're a huge compromise, and tend to be noisy.
You talking like the Corsair H100 and stuff? I hear a lot of good things about them.
Hah, did these people try to run the Corsair software? LOL
I have an H100i and the link software is garbage and glitchy. The cooler works nice its jusy the crap design of ivy bridge not letting me OC more.
Edit: let me rephrase, I can OC more but the added voltage jumps temps into the 70-80c range right now I see about 60c on prime 95 small fft or whatever its called.
What I find funny is my gpu is average and cpu is almost ancient but I can still play 90% of the games that come out at full setting and achieve 40fps or higher, sometime having to down the AA some but that's it usually. once I cant do that ill get a new cpu and motherboard.
Haven't tried BF4 out though lol, it would probably curb stomp my cpu.
Yeah BF4 is pretty intense, I couldn't run it on my old system even on the lowest settings.
My old system was an AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE 4GB ram Sapphire Radeon 4890 Vapor X.
I updated my motherboard Cpu and ram to an AMD Fx 6300 and 8gb of ram, and that alone allowed me to run the game on medium high settings and still average 30-40 fps..

Meh, that game is more polished in the hit detection and what not.
But it's too easy now. To be fair, I mostly play CS:GO now. So hitting things is part luck and part skill. :D
Also forgot to mention BF4 single player is unplayable. I was merely interested so I could see what sort of new and exciting visual effects that had decided to showcase this time around. Instead, glitch after glitch.
I'm entirely GPU limited though. Likely similar to a 560 Ti. I'd love to run water, but low noise pumps and less dense rads are either pricey or don't seem that effective.
Oh here's a pissoff: That new Tomb Raider game. Lags like a whore, and the gameplay sucks. It'd be fine on a console, but on PC? har har har.
Yay for GPU bottlenecks, CSS and CSGO are fun. Easily the fastest way to smash a keyboard is to play CSS and get waxed by everyone.
I wanted to do a custom loop, then I just today looked at the price of stuff and said "Yeah not happening"
Tomb raider if thats the case sounds like a failed port.....GTA 4 anyone? God that game is terribly optimized
Ran like a champ on my PC, day after it launched. No issues to be had, save for some of the cutscenes where you have to hit a button before you die, but that's just because I'm half retarded.
Custom loop will always be pricier than a closed loop (like my little H80) The loop im building is probably going to be close to $550, but the tradeoff for noise and overclocking potential is well worth it.
I think I had about 250 in my loop and I got a lot of the stuff used. Swiftech 220 radiator, new Swiftech pump the 655 iirc, new Swiftech Apogee GTX water block, Dangerden Maze 4 gpu, iandh custom 8800GTS ramsink, Tygon 1/2 in I'd tubing.

New tomb raider ran great on my p.c.. LOVED that game! but I had a 6970 back then and the stupid thing burned out(for the second time! 2 ati 6970 under 2 years..) so I got the nvidia gtx 760 so not sure how the 760 would do in that game.
I played CSGO alot few months back, great game I should really get back into it.
You can play BF4 on ultra with a 760 so I'm sure it will play Tomb Raider.
