Not to break your balls or anthing, but its my insane car knowledge that gets people pissed off at me. But anyways they messed up on the car that they used in the christine movie. they said it was a 58 plymouth fury right. well they didnt make those they only came in buckskin beige with gold trim. The 1958 Belvidere, the next model down, was available in toreador red and iceberg white, with silver the trim. I just know alot about classic cars.
No, I think your right. I've heard someone else say that before. Actully if I remember correctly in the movie Christine at the begining on the assy line all the Plymouths were that color combo but one, the red one which was Christine. I don't have a huge knowledge on these like I do other Mopars, I mainly like the lines of the car.
Like I said, i'd take one like the movie car because its sinister looking. Hell i'd take one that looked stock inside/outside but w/ a 528ci Hemi under the hood, that would be nice :-), although the stock 350ci 305HP motor wouldn't be bad either. A 57 Golden Commando is cool as well too IMO.
Dave, you ever see "Two Lane Blacktop"? Crappy movie, but I love the stripped down primered '55 Chevy in that flick.
I should of listed that too!, I love that car! Actully, awhile back one of the original movie cars was in a Chevy mag I think (I have that issue somewhere). They were still restoring it back to TWO LANE BLACKTOP correct resto. The car ended up been in other movies too.
An interesting fact, one of the movie (i believe the one used for the engine shots and outside shots was as fast as it looked. At the time they used a brand new crate GM 454 LS6 motor in the car (worth a $$$$$ now!). It only had a few bolts on... It had the 2 4 barrel carbs (not sure on size) w/ the tunnel ram setup, Custom Fenderwell Headers, Olds rear end w/ 4.88 gears. Muncie 4 speed, and couse it had a bunch of suspension stiff and of course it was light do to all the fiberglass parts. Anyway, one night the movie crew went the the 1/4 mile track with that car for the hell of it. Supposedly it ran a 10.90 in the 1/4 mile! Pretty amazing for such a lightly modded 454 LS6. Course they proved themselves in the Chevelles as a good preformer, they were up there with the 426 Hemi's...
