Yep im seeing alot of them in the past few weeks.Im sure most of us are grown adults,so why not act like it.If someone is asking a question about something its probably cuz they dont know the answer. If you dont have anything positive to say or at least give somewhat decent advice, keep moving to a thread where u can help instead of having lame E-fights taking up space on someones thread.Ive seen countless threads where someone is asking a simple question and theres 20 posts of ppl arguing back and forth talkin sh*t.Grow up and try to help instead of showin how big ur E-balls are.

lol, jk its a public forum, you'll have a lot of that if the mods don't see it, if you see this goin on flag the post. This site is 20X better than any other w-body forum out there in regards to trash talking.

Care to give any examples, or if you prefer, PM them. But I can see your point.

First off, Fosh is correct, flag the post if you see something you dont like, or do not thing represents what this community is about. I cant guarantee I will see it the same way, but as conservative as I tend to be, your odds are good, so just flag it and I'll look into it. If necessary, I'll take whatever measures are needed to restore order or to weed out those that dont share the vision of this community and its purpose.

BADAZGTP, if I missed something please let me know, Im just as prone to mistakes and missing stuff as anyone else and its not about the pull you have at all and Im sorry if I did something or said something that gave you that impression.

No, no, no, you didn't say or do anything. Just making a little joke. You put your thoughts into the thread I was talking about. I said thanks for you doing it because I thought it could be a really nice thread. Just didn't know if you had seen that or not. The joke was about that thread because I tried to get it back on track, but to no luck. Your doing an awsome job. I know myself and quite a bit of others on here try and do what we can to make your jod a little easier. Thanks for making this a wonderful place to be.

I've scene this too, and have called a couple individuals on this issue! Basically, we are the best site and what makes that possible is the fact that we do not allow such things as "flaming" to happen. Its up to the site veterans to keep others in line, and for the most part we do. Good thread!!

I agree... there is nothing wrong with some jokeing around/smack-talk, as long as its in moderation. Trust me... Blowfish and I always talk smack about each others 60' times lol. The problem posts ive been seeing are either from non w-body owners or from "children" who start out posting ah my car is better than yours, and then gets their feelings hurt when someone honestly calls them out or has a doubt about their "story", then starts b-s within the community because someone either has an opinion or is right about something.

I think one of the most important things is to have consistancy when dealing with these issues. What I mean is, I know this site really took off in the last year and you have some "veteran" posters. Just because someone has been on this site longer or knows more people does not mean they are untouchable. This site is also almost a safe haven for people who have been ousted from other forums, this is good but you will have some people who were ousted for legitimate reasons from those sights posting here. It's a public forum and you will have thousands of different viewpoints and people posting on here in very different moods or situations when they are sitting on their computer checking this site or responding to something.

I think one of the best things a forum could have is just a short message about being respectful in the "reply to thread" or "post thread" boxes, to remind people to take a look at what they are saying.

If I knew how to do it, or that it could be done, I would be all over that as that is a fantastic idea. However, after a period of time I think people would just ignore it or even come to view it as a nuisance.

Fosh, I like your idea but lest we also forget that character also plays a role too. Peoples inward checks and balances that would tell one, what Im getting ready to submit might reflect badly on who I am, what I believe, what Im about, etc.

Theres all kinds of things that can be done downstream of a process but ultimately it takes a correction at the source to be most effective.

I rely a great deal on the members that come here on a regular basis to police the forums as well and to point out things that I may have missed, flag posts, stuff like that. Furthermore, if anyone sees that I have not treated one person the same an another, I expect that to be pointed out as well, I am human and as fallable as the next person. That said, however, situations and circumstances can change just enough to warrant a bit different action. I also try to take into account whether or not the person has been a member in good standing or not, have they been contributing to the community as a whole and whether the particular event that has been deemed needing attention or action is an isolated thing due to a bad day, that sorta thing or if it is a repeat of a continuing pattern.

You have to look at things from the close up view and from the big picture as well.
