Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
Idk, I was getting confused for a while, I pay cash for gas and calculate how much I would need to be sure I'll fill it, I was typing 3.50 instead of 2.50 in my phone. Gave like $15 more than I needed and felt stupid lol. First time paying these low of prices, seems weird. I need to buy a backup gas tank and use it when they go back up. Because really, these prices are more normal. $3.25+ a gal is ridiculous.
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
I remember paying .89 a gallon around 1999.
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
when i got my lic way back when in 85 gas was way under a buck. spare change could fuel you up for some cruising around.
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
I remember $0.98 in '99. I was driving a full size K5 Blazer with a 305. Life was good.
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
Let it be known, i hate with an absolute passion to wrap Christmas gifts. My OCD bugs the crap out of me if its not smooth, and symmetrical and even, so anything that not in a perfect box I want to burn.

I drove a lifted Bronco II with 31/10.50's and a crappy 2.8 V6.

I had the same rubber on mine. It had just enough balls to do a one wheel peelie brake stand.

aka a elephant burn out. cause it never spins fast enough to hum, just trumpet like a elephant...lol
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
My first one had 3.83 gears. No problem doing an "elephant" burnout.
My second one, the '81, had a 350/350 turbo and 2.9? gears. No go on the burnout. So...... I had the bright idea to put it in 4-low and not lock the front hubs. That's like, super low 2wd, right?! Nope.
Boom goes the u-joint. Lesson learned.
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
my 03 gmc, if you floored it and held it there off the line in 4 low it would rip the left front wheel off the ground when it hit second gear.
that truck had 33x12.5 16's on it, bfg all terrains. it did no burn outs at all once them tires went on. and i had 4.10 gears and a locker.
when they went bald, oh boy did it spin the tires pretty good. lol

I miss the days of super cheap gas
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
Sort of random, but just to find out if it works well or not. June 21st I replaced the rear suspension and decided to prevent rust on the bracket that holds the trailing arm, it was pretty rusty and didn't look it would last another 5 years if I didn't rust proof or replace it. So I lightly and evenly covered it in wheel bearing grease with a paint brush, and reinstalled. Just like I would undercoat with if I were to. So since I am considering using a tub of grease to quickly and cheaply undercoat my car (with the way it looks not mattering) I thought I'd see how the grease on the trailing arm bracket is holding up after almost 6 months. I just went out and was surprised the grease is pretty much exactly as I applied it, completely protecting the bracket from rusting. Even the lines made in the grease from the paint brush were still intact. If I wipe it, it will still smear the grease around and remove some of it, but the grease did get harder over time. Seems to be very effective. Just thought I'd share. The only other alternative is to use por-15. That's a bit expensive, and the much greater cost doesn't yield much greater rustproofing vs grease. If it were a nice and newer car I wouldn't use grease. I have tried rubberized undercoating and only half of it stayed applied, and if/when it peels, it actually traps moisture and makes it worse. The cool thing about grease is part of it soaks into rust.

Almost 6 months after. I didn't prep it at all, just covered over the very rusty surface.

Reminds me of some tools we dug out of storage coated in cosmoline. That is some serious stuff!
Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
That's the stuff they put on rotors I think.

Re: Post Whoring Thread 2.0- DON'T DELETE THIS ONE
You want to talk "empty" feeling? When I moved last year I was moving from a house I had lived in for over 17 straight years and 18 of the previous 19 years.
