You're not that old lol, I'm 19 and my dad is just about 10 years older than you. And coincidentally he's sanding all day some days, he's a painter/cabinet maker.

Ha! Ask him how it would feel to get advice about how to fix his car from a 19 year old! Thats me. Y'all know more about a car I've been driving and working on for like five years, than I do. Of course when y'all start earning good money, you'll need somebody to ask about the sixty something cool car you just bought. Luckily, I don't sand all the time but I get giant projects when I do. Its a living but barely.
An OTC meds tip- and it sounds wierd ... Pain relievers and muscle relaxers work differently. I have heard that Midol is the strongest OTC relaxer and works for men too. Have never resorted to that but just sayin.
Midol doesn't work for me.. sadly. So I still have the pain. Hopefully it goes away enough for me to be able to sleep

OK then last tip I swear- stretch everything. Meaning move all your limbs and head to all their positions, slowly and comfortably as you relax before you crash out. It helps. Hope you get some rest, Mariah. Thats where I'm headed now .... :th_yawning:
STORY TIME! So tonight.. i jump in the interstate coming back home. Meet up with this newer big horn dodge.. must of been 2010 or newer cause it had the duals out the back for exhaust. we are playing around on the interstate.. and we both exit to a connection.. we both end up hitting the last red light on this highway... he's lighting them up on the red.. it turns green and i lay it down... light em up myself.. toast him... i thought he'd be kinda close but he must not have been trying too hard.. i take my exit about 2 miles down the road and he follows.. went to see if he wanted to pull into the gas station but he was turning left.. and that was the way i usually went so i just went back to school.. threw my four ways on for to thank for the adrenaline i got from the "race" and he flashed back... before getting back on the highway. solid night in my book. now i remember why people street race.. the adrenaline pumping through the veins doing 110 on a highway.. it's kinda fun.. haha
47 isn't so old.. I'm pushing 42 here. As for these kids telling us how to fix our cars. Well.. hang out with me and there's very little that can't be fixed even with the proper bolt sizes, as long as it's mechanical.
I'd like to learn how to fix body panels, primarily because the rockers on this Regal are starting to show their age. Before the cancer spreads to the actual structure of the car, I need to make the decision of try to do this work or consider another vehicle. Soooo if you want to talk about how to swap a rocker... go for it.
I have not replaced a W-body rocker, Bill. They don't rust out here. Thanks for the encouragement. I can answer your non-vehicle-specific questions off the top of my head but might need pics in some cases. Can you direct me to the replacement rocker you would like to use, so I can see if sectioning is involved?
I have a few picture-heavy build and repair threads on different sites that show lots of patch work and some panel replacement. And the tools / products used. And a couple text threads about primers and basic sanding guidelines. If you would like to peruse them I can link you, or you can start at the beginning and just ask me. I certainly don't mind coaching in public, keeps me honest and makes me think twice about advice before I give it. Fire away!
I'm guessing you're joking abOut the w body rockers not rusting out?
You must of missed the part where he said doesn't rust out here

Yep... Right next to Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missourri. I think maybe I'll take some pics of my rockers and rear towers so you folks can see. Cars I see on here blow my mind with the rot.
My 03 was an Ohio car....bought it in 05 and sold it a couple years ago with no rust. It happens, but its rare.
My car dont rot or rust the just fry. Most ca cars have bad paint and or bad interiors due to all the sun we get. Hell we get about 200 days a year with clear blue skys it sucks really.
Not a spot of rust on my car here in TX its pretty uncommon but like CA we get serious sun damage.
Have you ever wondered why women have a pair of panties, but only one bra?
