If I was prepping PVC for spray paint and dry sanding by hand, 400-600 would be my choice.
What about the metal for dog bones and diagonal braces, I dont think mine have any rust if I remember right.

Samey same same. Actually one of those maroon scuff pads would be just right for all that. They won't let you smooth out chips or rough edges but will provide a good paintin' scratch. I'd clean that plastic with rubbing alcohol for sure, before and after sanding. Having fisheyes would be a PITA.
Okay thanks for the tips. Fisheyes?

It's a paint thing where it's terribly blemished
I think I have a few of those on my trunk lol. I'd like to paint my UIM but then id have to do the LIM and that's too much work. And if I get to the LIM might as well top swap.

Yepppppp that's how I feel
So if I top swap. I would do all that maintenance swap my coolant elbows. vc gaskets all that **** lol
N/A probs

Well I had to do vc gasket and coolant elbows because both leaked very bad. When clay did his LIM I wanted to kill him because his elbows didn't break at all except a small peice in the LIM that was already off the car.

Sorry ... Kyle, right? Matt here. Fisheyes work like those watercolor paintings in kindergarten where you draw something with a crayon then paint over it and the paint runs away from the crayon. Shows up as little craters in the paint and is caused by failure to clean mold release off a cast plastic item. You probably won't have any trouble but if you did it would suck, just something to watch out for. Stop painting, dry and start over if you see it happening.
Ya its Kyle, thanks now I know.

I remember my first time doing the L36 LIMs. I used rego parts store elbows and plastic gaskets, pfft. Lasted one year exactly and I went back with plastic GM elbows and the alum gaskets. Now theres aluminum ones? Crap I'm so behind I don't dare crack open the L67 yet. Still studying up on the forum here.
