I don't like the looks. If i were going to get a sport truck it would have to be a ford lightning or dodge srt 10. Then again i have my car to go fast for a truck i would take a light duty sterling powered by a cummins diesel backed by an alison tranny. I dont see this to be very popular in the us.
I like it...the el camino filled a smal niche that hasn't been filled since...it was a pickup truck that could be licensed as a car....this was good for states that charge more tax on a truck than a car....some states even let you chose how you wanted to license a camino based on what you planned to use it for....guess maybe I am just old school... I miss driving my grandfathers Caballero (GMC version)...it was a fun little ride and handy to haul appliances etc around in which we did quite a bit for his business. Anyway...I like it.
A lot of these cards (G8 models, Camaro) are so far along in the build process that even if they don't sell, GM would loss MORE money canceling them. If the Camaro was shown as just a concept at this year's LA car show, you know there's no chance it would actually be made.
I'm going to start looking for a used '08 G8 GT in March or April of next year. If I can find a new one still on the lot in March or April, I'm sure you'll get quite a deal on it.

If it's scheduled to only sell 10k units a year it's not a failure it's niche vehicle. I have no problem with it replacing the SSR but if they keep both well GM is just that stupid. If they think it's gonna be a volume mover and they flood the dealerships with it it'll be a flop.
8k-10k a year they can make some cash off of it. Not much but the real volume seller will be the Holden version. The Aussies love their Utes.

why??? dodge is complete garbage, that hemi engine should be used as an anchor. guys are fooled by this "legendary hemi power" campaign. there is hardly an aftermarket. wow hot rod magazine put a cam in it and it went 13.0 bang for the buck you cannot beat the LS motor, heres my buddys G8, which now has gone 11.0 as of last weeks track rentalQuote:
