HOLY!! Why can't more CEO"s be like that. Both our Countries would be better off if they were to think and act like that. Rich get richer and poor get poorer.

Well thats all well and good but you know dang well that isnt all the money he would be making from the company. The JAL CEO realistically reduced his to not only something in line with everyone elses but something you could believe a CEO would be willing to work for in tough times.

I believe the CEO for Southwest Airlines did something along the same lines. VERY humble of him to do that! Like others have said, our US Corporate structure has been built on greed and wealth. It would take YEARS for that kind of mentality to trickle down to the US. But if all these major companies we have keep folding like dominos, we might very well start seeing that happen here.

I think the airlines should be investing more money into transporter beam technology before it's too late.

How much money does someone really need to make?
Come on i know it would be nice to make say 2 mill a year. but at that point does someones life really differ if they make say 4 mill?

Every small business owner knows far to well what its like to not pay your self and reinvest in your own company.

Where do you think gm would be if the ceos skipped out on a some paychecks. Or aig quit having million dollar partys.

Well, Im personally not against them making that kind of money. If they warrant getting paid $100 million a year then so be it. But when the company starts to flop then I think their pay should reflect that. Pay for performance. If the company isnt doing well, then you Mr CEO arent going to do so well either.

Actually the CEO of Toyota Japan did the same thing, and most CEOs in Japan do

Toyota went on a halt of production in Japan, and the workers were out of a job for the time being. The CEO continued to pay them to do odd jobs around Japan. The results were new Stadiums, better streets, and all kinds of things just from that little break. The whole place got a makeover. When they all came back Toyota barely took a hit!
