Needing something free, or if you can think of something that is cheap but good, let me know.
Thanks

Spybot search and destroy seems to work well. But if you do a search with google on free spyware removal you should come up with a few good ones.
ad-adware from lava soft is what i use and it works very well
I work at a computer shop and we used to use this software all the time.
Crap.

If you want a deep cleansing spyware/virus removal use SDFIX. This software has take off some of the NASTIEST spyware/viruses I have seen. This program is VERY powerfull and blows all other scanners out of the water. It is ran first in safe mode, then boots in normal mode to run a second cleaner. The whole time it is ran in command prompt (good stuff)
Get it here
Here is a simple tutorial
For scanner type software (less serious problems) use Malware bytes. This can be found at:
here
Slow computer with allot of data (100gb +) tops 30 min
Fast computer = 15 min tops
Run sdfix. See if it doesnt help u out
Did SD fix take off anything? You need to look at the log.txt (check C drive i think)
Use nod32. Its not free but if u know what ur doing u can... manhandle it to get it working

SDfix worked great. thanks for the tip. my computer really needed something like that.
That's incorrect. That is like going to 3 diffrent gas stations to get a full tank, where as you could go to one gas station with "the best" gas and getting a full tank.
For non harmful (or less serious) spywayre, you just need one good appliction(use spybot s and d).
If you have a serious problem, you need to use one software to identify the name of the infection. Now that you have the name, you can search to one how to remove it, and or what software can remove (sd fix).
Most of the time when there is a serious infection that is roaming the internet, people will make a stand alone software that's sole purpose is to remove that infection.
Long story short, using 4 diffrent anti spyware apps is being ignorant (I mean this in a non offensive way, so please dont think I am trying to insult you)
Obviously you don't know much about computers. Especially when you compare spyware removal to filling up at different gas stations...???
A fair comparison would be: having your house inspected. If you get one guy to do it, he isn't gonna catch everything. The next inspector is going to catch something the inspector before him missed. And that is no different than spyware and if you understood computers at all you'd know that one program can't catch everything...some are better than others.
If you don't know anything about the subject then don't give out false information
