Upgraded a few things on the Ruckus finally.
Hot Racing Caster Blocks and Hot racing front hubs.

3665 3100kv 4 pole eBay blue can brushless motor

    4500mah 30c 3s Lipo

The stock axles and the axles from a Stampede 4x4 do not hold up to 3s very well.

Looks like a set of these is in my future.

    Things to get.
    • Hot Racing axles
    • Hot Racing aluminum hexes
    • RPM rear A-Arms
    • RPM rear axle carriers
    • New rubber sealed bearings
    • Traxxas camber links and turnbuckles
    • Pro-Line 2.8" Trenchers on Desperado wheels
    • 32 pitch gear conversion
    • New steering servo to replace the crappy one I bought, didn't know it was a knock off when I ordered. Wanted to order a TowerPro MG996R got a Towerdpro MG996R.
    • Hobbywing SC8 esc to replace the Castle Sidewinder SCT.

About the only thing I'll replace with aluminum is the front suspension mount, this is a basher and putting aluminum on certain things is not a good idea. The aluminum parts made for these trucks do not stand up to bashing very well, most of it is like the quality of Traxxas aluminum stuff. I would do the rear axle carriers, but the RPMs use larger bearings.
Too bad MIP doesn't make axles for that thing.

This is somewhat on topic. I've been looking at getting a commercial drone license. The FAA changed the regulations about 6 months ago, July I believe. You only need a license if you plan on making money with your drone or as a pilot. An average hobbyist won't need a license, just follow the drones FAA registration if it has one. The FAA is very specific about the language on this. They're currently suing a Brainerd, MN man for $55,000 for allegedly selling aerial photos of an empty field with a message plowed into it with a tractor. He's failed to provide his Part 107 license.

However, getting licensed costs a grand total of $155. You'll have to pass an FAA Part 107 knowledge test, as well as a TSA Background Security Check. Note: This security check cannot be obtained from the same place you need TSA screening for airline QuickCheck. I asked the TSA and the only way to get the Part 107 background check is to complete the 60 question knowledge test, of which you can miss like..18 questions, but I believe you still have to pay the $155 to take the test.

The security disqualifiers are listed on TSA's site, of interest is that a drug conviction will not bar you from a license unless the charge came tagged with intent to manufacture and/or distribution. Simple, non-felony, possession or stays of imposition/adjudication aren't specific to the statute's language. Testing centers are all over. My closest one is a couple miles away at the local airport. I need only to call for an appointment after I study.

I have a hardware/software package in mind for a development drone. It's everything I've come across reading over the last week or so. Now.. to get a small drone to smash a few times before trying the heavy lift big boys, lol. Just thought I'd share.

Yeah, my friend just got a Syma X5C and has it all put together today. I've been looking at JJRC's "toy" level to start.

I had a Syma x5sw, it had a WiFi fpv camera. It was too small and light to fly where I live. And I live in a no fly zone and would have to drive like 10 miles in any direction to fly the thing. Even the slightest breeze and the wind would just take off with it. So I sold it.

So I bought a Traxxas Summit.

I think this thing got boxed up on a Friday or something though.
I ordered the green one and this is what I was greeted with upon unboxing it.

And on a side note, nose diving the Stampede into concrete on a cold winter day is not a good idea.

Yeah, this is what I should have started with for an RC. This thing will climb straight up pretty much anything. I need to buy some panty hose to make a chassis shroud I think or just buy a Dusty Motors shroud.
I am really contemplating buying the Kershaw Designs Dewalt kit.

It's finally here. I can't believe it. Will HPI actually make it happen? Edit: Yes, I know it's a Mustang, lol.

I heard they changed owners and now don't have parts for many models. So, just don't break it. Lol
