Went auto-xing for the first time this past weekend, and I had a blast. My times weren't that bad for being the biggest car out there, along with being FWD. Just thought I would share a couple of pictures.

I have wanted to try auto crossing for a long time. I have a really good friend that does it on a very regular basis and places in the top 3 in just about every event in his Ford and he has been trying to get me out there on the track.
I have been planning on doin this for awhile but my suspension is shot. i had a chance this summer an couldnt cause of that. How was it in a gp though?
it shouldnt be too bad as long as you leave 'er in second and you have some bigger sway bars/trailing arms/brakes. i bet if you did it often enough you could get in the upper class of times too.
does the blower put you in a different category from other people?
Yea thats what i was thinkin too Bio. Im plannin to get all bmr and then get swaybars and struts and lowering springs this summer an get into it. I was wonderin though how it is goin through all those tight turns in a bigger car like a gp.
I can tell you it was difficult in some areas to get through the cones. And I did take a couple of them out. I was hard being big and FWD. There was a Charger out there and also a G8GT, and I must say the G8GT did very well. But most of the cars were small, and RWD.
I have the front and rear GMPP STB bars along with the GMPP RTAs. So that helped a lot, I think the Michelins Pilot Sports helped too. I used my brakes like nobodys business, and my tires a squealed like crazy around those cones. But I sure did have a blast.
Being that it was my first time I was placed in the novice section. So the supercharger and modifications didn't matter. But as I continue to do this, and get better, hopefully. They would change my class. Because I am hooked now, I had way too much fun out there.
Also don't bash on me too much, remember this was my first time ever taking my car out on any type of track. So I think I did fairly well, even though I placed last. But look at what I was competing against. Here is the link to all of the runs that day.

Actually here is a shot of me killing a cone......

looks fun
I bet you had a blast!!!!!!!
How would you do that? That might be something to look into. But remember this was my very first time ever on a track too. So I think with practice, I will get better and better. Or at least I hope so.
I can say the magnasteer was a nice feature to have, it made the steering .very easy. Just the cones were too close![]()
The Auto Cross (SCCA) group here is very strict when it comes to upgrades. If you change anything on the suspension or add a CAI or do anything that is not stock they put you in another class and when they do that your car doesn't have a chance competing. I've got a friend who has a RX7 with a Corvette LS1 in it. He normally comes in 2nd or 3rd behind a Supra Turbo and he's been trying to get me out there too. I think the only thing you can do is replace your suspension with newer OEM replacements and then add some race tires to stay in the stock class.
