Re: a manager from autozone wants to race for cash
My 95 gst made 450 on 20lbs, ported head, 57mm Garrett turbo, 650 injectors, blitz bov, Megan headers, and still on stock side mount intercoolers and a full 3 inch exhaust!!! You couldn't tell that it had that much power if you didn't know the build!!!! Better check hard!!!! If the turbo isn't the size of your fist(14g) then he's got a bigger turbo and the fmic won't mean anything I was on my smic on 450 so don't mean anything a full exhaust will say something to. And the mbc will say something to!! Also check to see if there's a wideband or turbo timer or basically anything suspicious lol.
And heads up with the right driver a stock eclipse on "10 is the correct poundage" pounds of boost can beat a gtp by a couple cars stock for stock. Did it in my 99gst
Re: a manager from autozone wants to race for cash
Yes I know I would of made more on a fmic but I wanted to hide my power and I did.

Re: a manager from autozone wants to race for cash
I didn't read all these posts, but, I can say from experience......believe it or not.....people lie about their cars. The guy is fast underplays it to seem slower.....the guy that is slower, overplays to seem like he is faster.
As far as the gambling goes, I have won and lost more on the break of a game of 9-ball than most people make in 2-3 months. If you are worried about a $100 and it could hurt you, do not do it.
Let's say you are faster......and you break something in the race. You may lose the race, your $100 and the cost of repair....and the humility of having to wait on a tow truck while he drives off with your $100.
To be blunt, if the worst case scenario happens, and you are unable to recover from it with little to no effort.......you do not need to put yourself in that position voluntarily.
