Thread: Anyone have knowledge on Alero's

Now it's time to fix the wife's car .Well she has power windows on all doors but the driver is the only one that can open them.It is like the lock button is stuck.And the driver seat is stuck all the way up(power seat) and the truck button does not work.I have check all fuse's and everything is good. Does anyone have any ideas? I dont plan on spending much money on this crappy car,its a P.O.S. Thanks in advance !!

Check the wires that go into the door. There will most likely be a plug to disconnect them disconnect it and check it for corrosion.

agreeed also check your fuse panel possibly for a fuse running your power locks windows etc..

I have a grand am and I have the same issues with the trunk. No issues with the locks though. I always have problems with the window. When I pulled my panel off from the issues I found condensation behind the water shield. It settles on the trunk switch and other wires. I replaced the fuses and it didn't fix anything, just like you did. I'm wondering if you may have the same issue with water. I don't have power seats. Oh also my alarm shorted as well and some other things. I think a surge when threw and blew something other than the fuses out. N-Bodies are the biggest piece of crap car I've driven. What a joke. The engine and trans have been fantastic but suspension, body, and electrical is all garbage.

My mom has an 02 and her drivers window just quit. She has had some really odd electrical issues with the turn signals over the past year and the dealer raked her for a few new modules and she is getting really tired of the problems the car has had. Other than leaky intake gaskets at 35K miles it has been a sound car. I am going to dig into her problem soon and it may not help you out but I will let you know what I find if you are still working on yours.
