Thread: How to talk to this cute girl in my college class?

Ok, ive research this through many sites and ive seen on forums people ask and hey there is a off topic section on the forum here so i thought i ask cause i really need the advice.

There is this girl i sit next to in my college class, it has been a month already in this class, Ive grown more and more attracted to her and she is so gorgeous. Well to me that is, she seems nice to and i have not felt this way about any girl since high school 2 years ago. Anyway i need help on how i can talk to her, im such a wuss and nervous too. Today i actually had the guts to talk to her before class when we were outside the class room waiting for the instructor. I ask her about the essay we did and stuff and when i approached her (The hardest part, surprised i was able to do it) I said hey and she smiled like a pretty big smile (I think it was big i kinda forgot since i was so NERVOUS) and said hi/hey too. i asked her about the essay and stuff and had a little conversation and now that i think of it she said a couple of things that i was so stupid to not talk about like her work and stuff. I always listen to people and talk less but this one time when i needed to listen the most my dumb butt was trying to talk more. She seem to like talking to me i think, she is always alone and does not know anyone really i think. During class there was no time to talk cause we discuss stuff we read as a class (I got English class BTW).

I sit next to her but its like the desks are in rows and i sit next to her but like her seat is a little bit more back than mine and when i look over to my right i can see her table and the chair of the person sitting right in front. I kinda got to turn my head a little bit more if i want to talk but im still so close. During class today i can see very well from the corner of my eye that she might have been bored as she was brushing her hair with her hand a lot. One time during the class today i can see in the corner of my eye that she was looking at me or at my direction but could not tell if she was looking at me or just in the direction. She was messing with her hair when looking at me, and then when i turn my head a little bit she moved away. I was too nervous to turn around to look so i just kept looking like i was listening to the teacher. Then after class i had the chance to say something to her but my dumb butt did not take it and left. Again i was so nervous and did not know what to say, i wanted to ask how can i be able to talk to her more and about what and how. If she was interested in talking, i think she was, before class then should i just go for it and try to talk to her more and more? Its really hard to do so and im shy and get so dang nervous. AND we only have this class Tues and Thurs.

So when i got to class on Tues how can i talk to her more and about what so we can be like friends and maybe like later on take things a step further. I hate that its only two days a week but its better than none at all. I really like her and want to talk to her soon cause in two weeks is spring break and i want to be able to ask her if we could hang out or do something then, and not wait so long and also want to get her numbeer too. SO ya i really need help from all you guys on the site that can help. And Girls to, what better way to get advice than from another girl.

I'm in college, and I know what you are going through right now. I'm sure you'll be having a mid term coming up before spring break. Maybe you could ask her to study with you before class at school in the library or the dining hall. If she doesn't know anyone else in the class she might really appreciate studding the material with someone. That way you don't come off as a creep.

You've got the class in common. Ask her to study with you. Surely, there's a test coming up. Put together a study guide together. Walk to the school store together for a coffee - gives you an excuse to b.s. about things that aren't class. "Hey, I know zero people in this class and want to study with someone smart, want to hit the library after class and help me put together a study guide?" Or research a paper. Or edit/proofread each others' papers. Whatever. All someone needs is a pretense to spend time with you if they're interested in you.

That sounds like a good idea cause we do have a mid term after next week, which is just a week before the midterm, but its going to be on a book we are to read called the "Perks of Being a Wallflower" or something like that. Ill see next week on that but how can i ask her that, just talk to her about the assignment in class and then just ask her? This make my more nervous to ask.

Just sit next to her in class, and if you were suppose to do homework or study or anything like that, just ask a general question about something like you don't understand it; hopefully she will explain it to you and this should be your door to ice break once she gets through it, you could lead to just other general questions like what her name is and what she is studying and what she plans to do with her life. It usually worked for me...one time I had a girl back in my dorm and clothes on the floor before the day was out.

Ok if ill try again to talk to her as much as i can but first im thinking of finding out each others name (I know hers but dont think she know mine cause the professor does not call on me that much). Like after a conversation you guys think i should say "BTW i did not get you name" Or something like that. And after she says hers should i compliment it and then tell her mine or wait till she asks me for mine?

Well i dont think all of the GP owners here are immature, just only 90% of them i think.

confidence is all you need. you can talk about the moons gravitational effect on the earths tide system, have confidence and she will listen.
literally go right up to her, say "hi". now this part is important. maintain eye contact with her, if she thinks your cute she will blush, if not then she wont.

to get her name, after your done talking just be like "see you later...your name was what again?"

The sooner you ask the less chance she will think your a creep. Don't over think it, just go for it! Trust me I was in the same scenario years ago, we're now engaged.

And how would i know what she would like to hear? What should i complement her on and should i do it every day i see her? (Only got the class Tues and Thursday which i hate cause i gotta wait till tues now) And you guys believe i might be too late to talk to her by then or just give it a shot and go for it.

After you talk to her, just saw hey I didn't get your name. I wouldn't compliment her on her name. I wouldn't say oh that's cute/pretty. She might think your being sarcastic. Hopefully she will ask for your name.

Dont be overbearing with compliments cause then she will know you are fishing.

Just ask for help or how she felt about a topic in class (girls love expressing feelings). Move forward with agreeing with EVERYTHING she says even if you disagree, from there you could just ask if she has a job while in school, how she likes the class, what she is going for in school (get it, centralize around school) when an opening comes up that can shoot outside of the school topic you can branch out. Just keep them General, let her do all the talking.
