Would you guys rather have the new Dodge Ram or the new Toyota Tundra?
i vote neither.
have you sat in a Toyota? the last one i sat in the seat sucked.
and i just dont like dodge trucks.
if you need it to haul weight, get a ford. if its not going to be maxed out all the time, get a GMC or Chevy truck, they ride real nice. like a big car.
the new tundras have a lot of room. im 6'6" and its one of the most comfortable trucks ive been in
I get the pleasure of driving/sitting in many new trucks at work, and I'd have to say I'd have to take the dodge over the toyota in this case.
But if I really had to choose a truck it would be a chevy.
come to jersey, every 150 has a girl driver, not kidding. it cant haul weight, its a 1/2 ton truck, ( which means it weak) and they are under powered to do any "real towing."
150 and 1500 are not even strong enough to be a true work truck. its DD that has a large bed, thats it.
thats why they have 5 or 6 lug wheels and 1/2 ton 10 bolt rear ends, weak sauce.
the 2500 and up have full floating rear ends, 14 bolts corporate rears or a (dana rear, comes with a duramax) locking rear diffs, 8 lug wheels. and heavy duty everything else, so it can haul a ton or more. where that 150 would have it rear bumper on the ground, and the axles snapped in two.
and ford has about the worst 4x4 set up out there, buy a ford if you want a 4x4 thats really 2 wheel drive, being the right rear, and left front will be the only wheels with any power to them.
ford also has no idea where to mount the side view mirrors, they have horrible placement. the seat in a ford, i dont care for at all.
the only thing i will ever say good about a ford truck is that YES, they can carry a good load , and do it well. if its not a 150 that is.
Something about the symonyms to "dodge" make one leary. LOL
I have a Silverado 1500, and while Scotty says they won't haul weight and are underpowered.. my truck would give him a run on that statement. I've also heard the 4L60 is weak and yet this particular one has done more than it's share. All in all, I'd prefer a 3/4 ton...no doubt. Don't really need more than the 5.3L gas, and yet..that duramax is one sexy motor.
and that cost like 20 grand to make happen, and it will never see the street. or a trailer or a load in the bed lol
but it can and will sit on a trailer its self i bet.
My buddy has a 5.9 Cummins Dodge making 850 hp and over 1000 tq, and he drives it on the street.
Since I don't like toyota Id say Dodge. Im not a dodge fan either but from what I've heard is that if its not a Cummins its no good. Im more of a Chevy truck guy at heart but would consider a Ford as well. And GMC is pretty much the same as a Silverado so theres not much to argue about there. My dad has an '05 Silverado 1500 and hauls his 17' Glastron around with no problems and it works great in snow. If you need it for all sorts of pulling power get the 2500 or 250 but you are probly best to get a diesel one and not gas.
since the late 90's into the 2000's gmc and chevy interiors are very different, the hood and fenders are way different. as well.
some chevy hoods close over the fenders, instead of inside the fenders. so the top of the fenders are flat. at least on that ugly ass hood where it looks like a bad folded wing or some crap.
the stock hood has the same bad lines minus the scoops. but you can see how its over the fenders.
