Ok couple months ago the amp died in my beloved JBL PB12 sub. I lost sight and it sat as i hardley ever use my home theater.

Well today was my birthday and i got day off and i wanted to watch movies all day. So what did i do for a sub?

    1. Lets open her up and take a look.

    2. Already tried to fix with no luck so let the Rewire begin. Rewired the speaker wires to an high level out so i can get the power to the speaker.

    3. Back together.

    4. Temp amp until i get a new bash amp or a new sub all together.

    5. Hmm How to power. Yep An old PC power supply i had.

    6. YAY! Power.

I Will have video of it working. But not like it used to be amp that was in it was a 250 rms 310 peak. Only getting 160rms right now. Now i might bridge the other 2 channels from my old 4ch and double the power.

There is a constant hum. I think this is either a bad power supply or due to the fact i used the high level out as a jumper so i could keep the box some what sealed. No cant hear it in a movie or music. Later i will try to run the speaker wire where the power wire was.

Try removing the ground from the PS and ground the AMP to your receiver somewhere. I've made some ghetto subs before, and that's what it took to get rid of the humm on a few of the amps.
