Used to shoot a little with some guys I graduated with but it has been over 3 years now. Very familiar with safety and how to properly handle one but not so much whats "good" and whats not. I am thinking about purchasing one finally but dont know enough about reliability to feel comfortable spending ~500 ish bucks on a handgun. I want something thats fun to shoot but is also reliable. I dont want a revolver and was thinking about a .40/.45 cal or so (what I used to mainly shoot). I emailed my buddies who are now over seas and figured Id try and get a few more opinions if anyone on here has any experience.

    Thanks,
    Jarred

Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

I shoot and carry a Smith and Wesson M&P9. I have had Springfield XD's, and Glocks. But this is the most comfortable gun I have shot. I love it.

Im partial to the m+p myself. Never had a jam or misfire or anything. My carry gun is a m+p 40 compact, also with an interchangeable .357sig barrel. Love it. home protection one is the good ol full size m+p .45
