So today I went to get my front drivers side tire patched. I've been to this shop a couple times, and they've done work for my mom too. Well, they patched it up, put it in the trunk, and I continued on with my day. A couple hours later, I went to go take the wheel out and to my horror saw this:

Honestly this is beyond sloppy work and I'm furious. These wheels are not by any means cheap, and I refuse to put this back on the car. The other 3 are in perfect condition. Anyway, I'm going back tomorrow to seek compensation, and if they refuse then I'll have to take legal action. This is completely unacceptable. Sucks considering these were gonna go on the car this Sunday

    P.S. - Sorry Drunkie :/

Don't run in there looking for a fight or they will most likely tell you to pound sand. Just explain what happened calmly and see what they say. If they say it was like that before the work then find some pics of them and prove it, then find out how much a replacement rim will cost.

Shops make mistakes especially when they work on quantity. Someone got in a hurry. If they are as good as you say they will take care of it no questions.

you're right, going in angry won't solve anything. i'm working on gathering evidence and paperwork right now that I can bring tomorrow. I have pictures of them on the car and also pictures of the 3 other wheels that are all mint condition.

I would be very upset. Go in with a calm and level head. A shop I took my GP to. Didn't tighten the lugs on one of the wheels and it started wobbling on the way home. Legal action was needed to have the car repaired. Two studs completely sheared off, another two were stripped and the lugs were missing. The fifth one I was able to remove with my hand.

Pictures and paper work are very important. Just be sure to tell them the same story every time. Being consistent usually means you are telling the truth.

So the lip is all scratched?

Its so dirty in the pics I can't really tell.

I bet they used a metal head with no lube. When they shoulda used a flat top tire machine with a plastic head and lube.

Yep the lip is scratched all around. And it wasnt that dirty when i brought it there. They somehow managed to make it filthy and ruin it all in one shot. Its even worse in person.

If they do replace your wheel(and they should if they are reputable) don't exspect to keep your old one. We had a guy come in and have his car detailed and the guy working on it scratched the hell out of the wheels with too stiff of a brush. We manned up and bought replacements($900) and the guy expected to keep his old ones too. Even called the cops...they laughed at him.... don't be that guy.

I brought the wheel over this morning. After claiming that he didnt cause the damage, I had pictures to prove him wrong. So he's gonna send it out to get repainted. Im just glad it was solved and I don't have to stress over it anymore.

Glad the resolution was painless. It sucks that it happened and it would have been better if they just manned-up instead of you needing the pics, but in the world we live in it's difficult to see the people who are telling the truth from the people who are out to get something for nothing.

Glad you have it taken care of. It would of really been a pain if you would of had to pursue legal action.

Yeah i guess i cant blame him for being suspicious. But at the same time he's the brother of a long time family friend so i was surprised when he so easily doubted me.

Getting a crappy paint job would suck. Make sure you take pictures of it when you get it back.
