Face the music and be glad you didn't hurt or even worse kill anybody. You are 17, most 17 yr olds don't see the value in the lessons of a mistake. The most important thing is to LEARN FROM THEM!!! Don't make the same mistake and help others to not make the same mistake.

How about NOT driving at all? Just sit your arse at home or a buddies and drink till your liver explodes for all I care. Just don't get your "weak .08 limit" arse on the road! That is all I ask. But I guess judging from your comments and others, you do it fairly regularly.
I guess you can just have someone post up here when your "weak .08 limit" gets you or someone else killed cause you thought it was soooooooooooo "weak."
There are laws in our Country that are meant to be there for the betterment of all. And this one is for the betterment of all drivers. But yet as proven we have people like you out there potentially endangering other motorists live's when you do it.
Cudos to you! :th_shakinghead2:

I have a cell phone. I follow drunks until the cops get there. I wish I lived in your town.
Re: so scared now i dnt know wat to do
Two weeks ago I had a guy run me off the expressway because he was driving drunk. I was in the slow lane doing the speed limit and he was in the emergency lane doing 90. Dumb ass didn't even realize he wasn't on the road. When he tried to pass me he came over in between the slow and fast lane still doing 90. I swerved into the emergency lane as he barely missed me. Then I sped up to get his license plate as he slowed down at the next exit. He stopped at the first red light and I called the cops. It's a 35 mph road and there were two cars in front of him so he couldn't go anywhere. The next light turned red and everyone stopped but him. He slammed into the car in front of him. When he got out he said he didn't want to involve the cops. I had already told the lady he hit that I had called to cops so unfortunately she told him. Then he said we should pull off so we wouldn't block the road. He got in his car and took off.
Anyone that puts me and my family in danger because they think they are in control of the situation or they are trying to learn how to drink are in for a rude awakening if we ever meet. You'll have a hard time walking and breathing.
Anyone who drinks and drives is a dumbass who should not be allowed on the streets period!

I agree, its pure ignorance imaturity, and being very naive for someone to think they can "handle it" better than the next guy because they have been "leraning how to drink" for the past 5 years. Typical youth thinking they have the world by the balls and know everything when they really dont know ****. Those know it all people eventually wreck someone else's lives and you read about them in the paper. Those are the fools I see crying to the judge saying "I'm sorry I screwed up" Fact is wther you think you can handle it or not, you are risking ther people's lives on the road.
As for the previous comment on crossing the line while looking for a cigarette. well a few things there. sad to hear someone went to jail, BUT also what about the people who were hit head on by her? Maybe she wasnt plastered, but that is the misconception people have about being impared. At the so called weak .08 your reaction time is delayed. I dont care who you think you are. I have been part of tests to plenty of tough guy know it alls who fail at .05, which is the limit in NY. Even lower than the .08 being argued. Being drunk may take you a second longer to change the radio, hit the brake, or look for cigarettes. Do you know how far a car travels in one second at say 60MPH? The limits set at .08 or .05 isnt set because beyond that limit you cant physically drive a car. Heck we have pulled people out of wrecked cars at .3 or .4, near death of alcohol poisoning. The limit is set at the point where your reaction time, hand eye coordination is compromised. Believe it or not it is greatly affected at a "low .05"
I hope this thread wakes a few people up who think drinking a beer or two and driving is ever ok. because its not. Those of you who refuse to listen I hope you dont have to stand in front of a judge and look at the survivors of the family you killed. At that point how much did that drink and that drive home cost you and the lives of everyone involved. Explain to a father why he wont see his son graduate school, or why he will never walk his daughter down the aisle, or never play with his grankids again. Better yet explain to a man why he will never see his wife or his unborn child because you thought you could handle it. Spend some time in court hearing these stories and maybe you'll wise up. Think about that before anyone wants to make another ignorant comment that they can handle drinking and have been "learning how the past few years"
Re: so scared now i dnt know wat to do
I come from a high school class of 120, that after the end of the 1st year of college, more than 30 people had OWI/DUI's and a couple dead. Some people were on their 2nd, like my roommate who he just moved in with us after getting his license back the first time. He bought a brand new pickup and one day he never came home. We actually joked about it that night and after he wasn't home for a while, we left a voicemail on his phone asking if he got another O-dub (this was after a long period of him not drinking at all). Later we found out that he was drinking after work with co-workers in the parking lot, drove home around 7-8 and rolled his truck on the Wisconsin bridge, where it was hanging off the guardrail over the mississippi. He came out with only scratches. 2 weeks later he went in for a checkup at the hospital and that is where they told him that he had been dead for 4 minutes and was recessitated because he had tried to get out of the truck and was strangled by the seatbelt.
He's 21 now and probably hasn't had his license for more than 2 years since he was 16.

Re: so scared now i dnt know wat to do
Wow I just lost respect for a lot of people right there. How the **** can you guys be so stuck up and ignorant to hope he gets charged with a DUI and then some for just blowing a .02. A DUI is considered a felony and can really have very serious consequences. Shame on you people for thinking he deserves this, when had he been over 21, his actions would have been deemed legal. A ****ing .02 WILL NOT affect your driving whatsoever, hell you wouldn't even have any hint of a buzz with a .02. The legal limit for people of legal age is .08, and that blood alcohol level was made pretty conservatively too, I wouldn't even consider myself "drunk" at a .08. Oh and don't even get into the whole underage drinking thing, I'll bet money that probably each and every one of you drank before you were of legal age also. Furthermore he said he was out in the country and I highly doubt that most of you even know what it's like out in the country. If he lives anywhere similar to where I live, which is out in the country by the way (gravel roads, no stop signs, no traffic, barely any houses, and surrounded by fields), he would never even come close to endangering anyone. Given it is a lot different when you're drinking and driving in town, which I'm assuming most of you people's are basing your experiences and/or judgments on. In town you have the possibility of endangering people because, guess what, there are people there driving, walking, etc... In the country however there are practically no people driving around there, especially at night, and absolutely no one walking around (if there was it would be a little creepy to be honest). So before you guys go off on him, try to understand the circumstances he was in. Put yourself in his shoes is kinda what I'm trying to say.
To the OP. It sucks to hear that the girl wouldn't say that for the cop, you got stuck in a ****ty situation. Hope it all turns out well.

ok so give him a belly rub and say its gonna be ok...that makes sense u werent really "drunk" how do u kno what his tolerance is?ive seen grown women take 2 shots of vodka and be puke drunk...as for living in the country...i live in sumter sc about as country as it gets...and newsflash thats where most fatal alchohol related car wrecks happen...long straight rds...nobodys around no cops etc so thats more of a reason for drunk ppl to drive like idiots...yea i drank underage does that make it right for all underage ppl to drink...no it doesnt.imma stop now...ill let someone else continue where i left off.

dont u think it would be better for him to get the book thrown at him now with no injuries to himself or others than a slap on a wrist for him to think oh ok nuttin happened last time eff it imma drink and drive again....maybe to have alot worse consequences? There is noooooooo excuse whatsoever for his actions.call me a hard ass whatever...like i said if his 0.2 alchohol level had killed a family member yall would think differently.i was a lil hell raiser in my teen years i went to prison at age 20...since then i been on my p's and q's sometimes thats what it takes. Not saying he should go to prison.license suspension for a yr,some kinda class where he can see what the repricussions of dui are...and parents should take his car indefinately.
Re: so scared now i dnt know wat to do
im one who learns from experience and alot of times it doesnt take the worst thing to happen for me to learn........... it is a really dumb decsion for him to drink and drive but i think he seems scared enough to not drink and drive again just from gettin pulled over and going through this so i hope he doesnt get the full extent and will realize how lucky he is and not make that mistake again

i hear ya...but the worst thing that could have happened to him is killing himself or someone else...so is his problem now the worst that could have happened?NO...point made i hope! even with mild punishment he comes out ok.
i keep saying this but honestly think about it if he killed a close family member or friend etc would u care about that 0.2? would u say hey he was only 0.2 give him a chance maybe he will learn from mistake...No u would wanna kill this guy.
